The Legacy Collection: Portraits of Stan Lee by Rob Prior offers an intimate look at the life and work of the late, great Marvel mastermind.
TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / October 19, 2021 / The Legacy Collection: Portraits of Stan Lee is coming to the Ethereum blockchain this month. It features adaptations of iconic Marvel covers by celebrated comic book artist Rob Prior, each signed by comic book legend Stan Lee. This very special auction will be held by Mogul Productions, a global non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace and decentralized finance (DeFi) platform for film and entertainment.
Part 1 of the collection will feature 10 striking works of art produced in collaboration with the man himself, Stan Lee. The collection will go up for auction on Mogul on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 5 pm Pacific Time, with the sale running until Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. Auction winners will receive an original physical artwork attached to a 1:1 ERC-1155 NFT.
The Legacy Collection: Portraits of Stan Lee is the result of a multi-year effort that started when Lee and Prior struck up a friendship based on a mutual love of comic books. Collaborating at the urging of a mutual friend, David Gold of D3M Management and Productions, the pair set out to create a collection of artworks befitting of Lee's stature in the world of comics, memorializing his likeness in a series of paintings as Stan's favorite characters on some of the best-known Marvel covers ever drawn.
To date, Prior has completed some 65 of the iconic comic cover portrait adaptations featuring Lee, the largest of which stands nearly nine feet tall. Part 1 of The Legacy Collection: Portraits of Stan Lee features the first 10 artworks out of a planned series run of 95. Mogul will be revealing the auction dates for future series' at a later date.
