Through this work, Best Buy expands its collaboration with Strategic Education, Inc.—a trusted workforce education partner that helps more than 1,400 partners upskill and retain their workforce by providing access to tuition savings and other education benefits. By leveraging Strategic Education’s Workforce Edge platform, Best Buy can now scale and streamline its education benefits to serve its thousands of employees through a single, centralized portal.

“Best Buy is proud to work alongside Strayer University to expand our Degrees@Work program and enhance how our employees can engage with and manage their education benefits through the Workforce Edge platform,” said Charlie Montreuil, Best Buy SVP of HR Rewards.

The move to Workforce Edge for Best Buy’s education benefits management comes on the heels of the company’s February announcement that all full- and part-time employees would have pathways to no-debt, no-cost-to-the-employee college degree options in partnership with Strayer University’s Degrees@Work program. This program offers employees the opportunity to take coursework or earn a certificate, associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree from Strayer University.

“Best Buy is taking a bold approach to employee education by enabling all workers to expand their professional skills and pursue their educational goals. Workforce Edge will help ensure they can manage and measure the effectiveness of this program at this scale,” said Karl McDonnell, CEO of Strategic Education, Inc. “We are excited to partner with Best Buy on this groundbreaking initiative to support its employees in pursuit of economic mobility.”

As the largest consumer electronics specialty retailer in North America, Best Buy has been an industry leader in providing education benefit options to its workforce. For over a decade, the company has partnered with Strayer University to provide their employees with tuition discounts and reduced fees.
