Coursera Appoints Grant Parsamyan as Chief Data Officer

Coursera, Inc. (NYSE: COUR), a leading global online learning platform, today announced the appointment of Grant Parsamyan as Chief Data Officer, effective July 21, 2025.

“Grant’s depth of experience in building large-scale data systems and leading data-first transformations makes him a terrific addition to Coursera’s leadership team,” said Greg Hart, CEO of Coursera. “As we continue to expand our use of data and AI to improve learner outcomes and platform innovation, Grant’s leadership will be key to unlocking new growth opportunities for our global community.”

Parsamyan brings more than two decades of experience in data architecture, analytics, and enterprise infrastructure. He most recently served as Chief Data & Information Officer at Alludo, where he led digital transformation efforts across data engineering, cloud infrastructure, analytics, and cybersecurity. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade at OpenTable as SVP of Data Science & Analytics, where he built and scaled the company’s data organization and championed a data-first culture. He has also held leadership roles at eHarmony and Yahoo, helping drive data strategy for widely used consumer platforms.

Parsamyan holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems from the University of Southern California.

“I’m excited to join Coursera at such a pivotal moment,” said Parsamyan. “Data is central to how Coursera creates tailored, scalable learning experiences and drives measurable value for learners, partners, and customers. I look forward to working with the team to advance our data and AI strategy and power the next phase of innovation.”

Parsamyan’s appointment comes as Coursera continues to invest in AI, platform intelligence, and data-driven insights to better serve its global community. Innovations like Coursera Coach, Course Builder, and AI translations and dubbing are helping make learning more personalized, accessible, and effective — supported by trusted, responsible use of data across the platform.
