Render Networks Previews Agentic AI Expansion, Brings Autonomy to Scale Network Delivery

Render's agentic AI engine, ClearWay, will let hyperscalers and their builders configure and blueprint transport and middle-mile network projects without waiting on manual engineering cycles

Render Networks, the system of execution for critical infrastructure, today previewed Quartermaster, the next expansion of ClearWay, its agentic AI architecture, ahead of its appearance at Metro Connect, September 2–3, 2026 in Austin. It follows the Field Quality Agent, which uses agentic AI to validate field work against construction specifications, and moves ClearWay upstream to remove the manual bottleneck between engineering and construction, turning engineering designs into configured, blueprinted, ready-to-build work.

Combined 2026 capital expenditure guidance across the four largest hyperscalers has reached $720 billion to $745 billion, according to TMT Finance, with third-party forecasts cited by Nvidia clearing $1 trillion in 2027. Data center buildout is scaling capital and urgency faster than the engineering teams who translate a design into a construction plan can keep pace with.

"The Field Quality Agent proved a hyperscaler could trust an agent to grade field evidence against spec at scale," said Stephen Rose, CEO of Render Networks. “Quartermaster asks the same trust question earlier in the lifecycle: can a builder stand up new work at the speed their capital is moving without sacrificing control? The governance we built and independently certified for one agent is the same governance the next one inherits.”

From Verifying the Build to Configuring It

Quartermaster pairs AI document discovery with project configuration and Render Blueprinting. It interprets engineering inputs across structured and unstructured data, understands them in the context of the project, and recommends how the work should be orchestrated, often across thousands of field-level tasks.

Because Render was built as an AI-first platform, rather than adding AI as a layer onto a legacy system, Quartermaster operates directly within the same data, workflows and execution environment customers already use. Built on years of knowledge derived from the Render platform, Quartermaster replaces disconnected manual steps with an opinionated, defaults-first approach (task types, dependencies and forms templated by project type) that customers can review, adjust and blueprint in the same session.

Both agents share Render's enterprise multi-tenant AWS and Databricks foundation and the audited access control, incident response and AI governance model supported by its ongoing ISO/IEC 27001 certification. For hyperscalers and EPCs evaluating Render’s agentic AI solutions, that security review already extends across the underlying platform.

Accelerating Project Readiness

The first release of Quartermaster will focus on middle-mile and long-haul transport fiber builds, the category that most directly feeds hyperscale data center connectivity, accepting KMZ, DWG, SHP and GeoJSON design inputs along with Esri geodatabase files and PDF-based designs.

Future releases are planned to support additional broadband project types, including FTTH, drops and maintenance work, with further extensions into the adjacent power projects necessary to bring data centers online.

Render Networks will be on site at Metro Connect, September 2–3 in Austin, Texas, at booth #2-300, where the team will share more about what's ahead on the Quartermaster roadmap.
