BoxTop Technologies Ltd, a shipment management solutions provider that specializes in working with logistics service providers (LSPs), has announced that it has just been acquired by Descartes Systems Group (TSX:DSG) (Nasdaq:DSGX), the global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce.
BoxTop is a UK-based firm that has helped LSPs utilize computer-aided management solutions that can help them manage the complexities of the freight industry. With the help of BoxTop’s management platform, LSPs are able to ensure security and efficiency in logistics, including routing, booking, and delivery. BoxTop has previously worked with Descartes as a partner, using the Descartes Global Logistics Network (“GLN”) to provide their clients with more insight into shipments across differing transportation and shipment models, with support for electronic customs filings.
Descartes, which has now acquired BoxTop, is a logistics platform provider that offers a range of solutions, including routing, mobile & telematics, customs & regulatory compliance, transportation management, and other services. With Cloud-based logistics and supply chain solutions, they empower LSPs with access to greater insights and more precise decision-making for both employees and customers. With their acquisition of BoxTop, the suite of tools their platform offers is able to grow exponentially.
