Winterthur First Aid Training: Drivers Emergency Life Support Lessons Announced

Fahrschule Winterthur SULI has announced first aid course and accident safety classes as part of their program for obtaining a driver’s license.

With a recognition of way in which having the correct safety knowledge and training can help to save lives or minimize injuries in the case of a roadside accident, the safety training lessons give student drivers the confidence and ability to act appropriately in a range of different roadside scenarios.

A recent report from the European Transport Research Review shows that experience-based first-aid safety training for drivers was effective in terms of reducing the number of fatalities and serious damage to health in traffic accidents. At Fahrschule Winterthur SULI, the experienced team of instructors focuses on helping student drivers gain the tools and skills they need to act quickly and with confidence in the case of an emergency.

“The ability to act appropriately in accident situations can save lives,” says a company representative. “It is for this reason that you can only take the theoretical driving test if you have previously completed a first-aid course. Our course prepares you with extensive knowledge and practical skills so you can react correctly in the decisive moment.”

The first-aid and safety course is divided into two parts. During Part 1, students will learn about rights and obligations in emergency aid, as well as rules governing traffic lights, rescue procedures, and how to raise the alarm. The course also covers self-protection, safety, hygiene, and patient assessment according to the SRC scheme.

During the second part of the course, participants will get an introduction to first-aid resuscitation techniques, AED demonstration using a defibrillation machine, a background knowledge of anatomy for injury care, and information about how to store basic first-aid equipment.

First-aid courses from Fahrschule Winterthur SULI can be taken in a number of locations, including Aarau, Baden, Wohlen, Basel, Liestal, Pratteln, Bern, Burgdorf, Interlaken, and Spiez. First-aid courses can be combined with the organization's complete drivers education and licensing program.
