Avoid HVAC Summer Scammers

Black Mountain Air, a Henderson-based HVAC company servicing the Las Vegas Valley, has published an article detailing tips on what to look for before hiring an HVAC company.

Henderson, United States - May 26, 2021 /PressCable/

Black Mountain Air, a Henderson-based HVAC company servicing the Las Vegas Valley for more than 14 years, has published an article detailing tips on what to look for before hiring an HVAC company during the summer.

Homeowners looking to keep their homes cool during the upcoming summer months should be mindful of scammers looking to take advantage of them.

Case in point, just last week, on May 18th and May 21st, two scammers, an HVAC contractor, and an HVAC repairman were just charged and sentenced to jail for scamming residents.

In Pennsylvania, Scott Good was charged with failing to pay skilled workers their required prevailing wages. That allowed Good to be able to reduce his labor costs and submit bids for projects that had lower wage and fringe benefits costs.

And in Four Oaks, NC, Gregory Lee Hines was charged with taking payment and either never finishing the job or even starting the job.

Having an HVAC contractor service a system or having them install a new unit before the summer heatwave starts is always the right call.

But homeowners need to find trustworthy and reliable companies.

The Black Mountain Air article details exactly what things should be considered when looking to hire an HVAC company, to avoid being scammed.

According to Black Mountain Air’s owner, Todd, “HVAC systems are very expensive to replace, and having one fail during extreme temperatures will have some unscrupulous companies try to take advantage. A little bit of research can help a lot. Start online first and then reach out to friends and family. Narrow down the list of potential contractors and verify they are Licensed, Bonded & Insured.”

Black Mountain Air is a family-owned and operated air conditioning and refrigeration company servicing commercial and residential clients. They have over 14 years of experience providing HVAC services. Their certified technicians can provide AC service, repair, parts, installation, and preventive maintenance.
