In Collaboration with Beyond The Streets Social Justice Task Force
NEWNAN, Ga. - June 16, 2022 - PRLog -- ELITE Youth Organization, LLC (EYO) has announced its 3rd Juneteenth event that will take place on Sunday 19th of June 2022 from 12pm – 5 pm at First Avenue Park 24 1st Avenue Newnan, GA.
EYO's vision is to advance the liberation and well-being of marginalized communities by providing comprehensive and enriched services to first time youth offenders and disenfranchised young men and women.
This year Beyond The Streets Social Justice Task Force is also collaborating with ELITE Youth Organization, LLC (EYO) for the Juneteenth event. The mission of Beyond The Streets Task Force (BTS) is to protect and defend the human rights of the most vulnerable citizens. They achieve this by providing opportunities for community engagement, advocacy and fostering positive relationships with local government entities to influence policy change.
DJ Atreau will be on the 1's and 2's playing historical "negro hymns" to modern day beats. There will be several local vendors with food and different products for people to experience at the Juneteenth event.
There will be performances by artists and storytellers sharing our rich history and contributions to society. Since this year Father's Day is shared with Juneteenth, we have a special raffle just for them. Adell Lashawn Travel is sponsoring 10 fathers with hotel accommodations; over 30 locations to choose from.
The theme for this year's Juneteenth event is "Remembering Our Ancestors". The event is being organized in remembrance of our enslaved ancestors, to give community members an opportunity to learn more about the significance of Juneteenth and to provide our community with a platform to showcase their heritage, culture and creations.
Beyond The Streets Social Justice Task Force is a member of The More Than A Moment Alliance, a national coalition of human rights advocates, former Black Lives Matter activists, and cultural workers are calling for Juneteenth Substance Over Symbolism, specifically. . .
