Sophomore album on Blue Heart Records slated for October 21, 2022 release
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Aug. 18, 2022 - PRLog -- UK vocalist Malaya Blue returns with another fruitful collaboration with renowned blues writer and producer, 3-time GRAMMY-winner Dennis Walker (R.I.P.). The world-class talent and expertise of Richard Cousins, Brett Lucas, John McCullough and Sam Kelly provided the musical foundation on which Malaya recorded every vocal track live, without edits or overdubs. The debut of the long-lost, mythical "Howlin' Mercy" is a particular treasure, originally written by Walker in the early 90's and later recorded by John Campbell as the title track of his second Elektra Records release, although the track itself was ultimately never included on the album. Sadly, Walker's recent passing bestows Blue Credentials with the bittersweet distinction of being the last recording project with which he was involved.
"There is nothing better than working with an artist, not only from one's hometown (Norwich, England), but also with the talents of Malaya Blue," says Blue Heart Records partner, Betsie Brown. "She sings from the heart with a clarity that resonates and reminds us all why we are here."
''It's thrilling that Blue Credentials is being released on Blue Heart Records, who supported us so brilliantly with Still," says Malaya. "As a label, they become more significant with every release and we are proud to be a part of that journey.''
Album preorders are available beginning September 23.
