Looking At The Success Story of Dividend-Paying Stocks and Mutual Funds

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Dec. 27, 2022 - PRLog -- If your investment strategy includes plans for making regular income, make sure to look for investment options that pay a portion of their profits in dividends to their shareholders. These types of investments have a strong history of providing value not only in the dividends, but in the returns on their investment.

Another important factor to consider when choosing your investments is to determine whether your stocks are segmented as a growth or value stock. Growth stocks are typically found in industries like Technology and Consumer Discretionary Industry groups. These stocks typically typically are growing above market rates, and typically do not pay dividends. Value stocks typically trade below market averages, but do offer dividends. These businesses are often found in Transportation, Health Care, or Consumer Staples industries.

While both growth and value stocks have performed similarly over long periods of time, there are certain market situations that see one outperform the other. From 2009 - 2021, we have seen growth stocks outpace value stocks, but for the past 12-18 months, we may be seeing a shift to value stocks.

Doing your homework on your particular investment is absolutely vital to a strong investment plan. Getting a good return will depend on your ability to evaluate the price of the stock vs its future earning potential.

As always, Trajan Wealth recommends a diversified portfolio with a strong investment strategy. But seeing companies that regularly pay dividends and have a history of increasing those dividends could be an excellent source of income from your investments. To learn more, visit Trajan Wealth's blog post about investing in dividend stocks.
