Dude Ranch Vacations at Historic O.T.O. Dude Ranch offer Excursions with Local Outfitters

GARDINER, Mont. - March 28, 2023 - PRLog -- Dude ranch guests are welcomed back to the O.T.O. Dude Ranch this summer for a second season since the ranch closed to dudes over 80 years ago. Guests will experience the historic ranch and Yellowstone Country with on-ranch activities including horseback riding, and off-ranch excursions with local outfitters in Gardiner, Montana; as well as tours of Yellowstone National Park with Yellowstone Forever.

The 2023 Yellowstone Pop-Up Ranch is an all-inclusive dude ranch experience produced by True Ranch Collection in cooperation with Custer Gallatin National Forest offering three- and six-night stays from June 25 to August 12, 2023. A portion of each reservation and all proceeds will be donated toward efforts to preserve and restore the ranch, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Guests returning to the historically significant O.T.O. will experience horseback riding and outdoor activities, lodging in the historic guest cabins, inclusive dining, and special events and entertainment. This summer's guests will also experience off-ranch excursions with local outfitters to explore even more of Yellowstone Country.

A full day tour of Yellowstone National Park by Yellowstone Forever will be offered to guests staying six nights. The O.T.O. is just 10 miles from the North Entrance of Yellowstone, and this special tour will provide guests with an in-depth look at some of the Park's incredible natural features and wildlife.

Additionally, all guests will be able to participate in white water rafting with Flying Pig Adventure Company, located in nearby Gardiner. Flying Pig's experienced guides will take guests for a float down the Yellowstone River navigating calm waters and challenging rapids.

After days spent in the saddle, the newest O.T.O. dudes can enjoy a relaxing soak in the mineral-rich pools of the Yellowstone Hot Springs. The hot springs are nestled along the banks of the Yellowstone River, just a few miles from the ranch.

The O.T.O. Dude Ranch, known as the first in Montana, lies along Cedar Creek in the Absaroka Mountains. Early 20th century dudes were drawn to the O.T.O. to experience the western lifestyle and a new type of outdoor Montana vacation until dude ranching operations ceased in 1939.

True Ranch Collection's Yellowstone Pop-Up Ranch will be produced in cooperation with Custer Gallatin National Forest, which has stewarded modern preservation efforts of the O.T.O. True Ranch Collection will be operating under a one-year permit to facilitate offering this opportunity to the public. Any long-term permitting of the O.T.O. Dude Ranch will be through an open and transparent public process.
