NEW YORK - Aug. 7, 2023 - PRLog -- GED Testing Service presented Sue Grosdidier, Associate Director for High School Equivalency at the Kansas Board of Regents with the 2023 GED Administrator of the Year award.
The award recognizes a GED administrator that has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the advancement of the GED program and GED learners over the past year. Grosdidier was presented the award during the GED Testing Service Annual Conference, held recently in New York City.
"Sue is well deserving of this award. She is a tireless advocate for adult learners in GED programs. Not only has she served adults and educators in her state of Kansas, she has also been a leader for several initiatives at the national level, said GED Testing Service Vice President CT Turner. "She was an instrumental leader in developing and delivering a program that has helped more than 3,500 learners who were stalled finally earn their GED diploma and move onto jobs, career training and college programs."
Documented in her nomination, Grosdidier was credited with building critical connections between adult education, career technical education, corrections and employers – all helping the State drive towards its workforce development goals. She is also credited with increasing GED program participation and completion/graduation numbers. Past colleagues stated that she is always willing to go the extra mile to help learners, even sending a congratulations card to every single GED graduate in Kansas.
"Sue Grosdidier performs outstanding work on behalf of students and the state of Kansas," said KBOR President and CEO Blake Flanders. "Her exemplary service makes a tremendous difference for individuals and families, helping Kansans achieve their personal and professional goals. I am excited that GED has chosen to honor Sue with this well-deserved recognition."
Grosdidier is an enthusiastic and dedicated educator and leader who has worked in education for 36 years. Most of her educational experience was as a High School Transitional Advisor working with high needs students on personal issues, scheduling, career exploration and much more. She has also worked in the college sector where she held positions in administration and served as Adjunct Faculty.
In 2023 she received the Distinguished Service Award issued by the Kansas Adult Education Association for her work with students and adult educators across Kansas. She currently serves on the Kansas State Library Board. Grosdidier received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology/Anthropology, and a Master of Science in Student Personnel/Counseling from Emporia State University.
Each year GED Testing Service recognizes GED graduates and state GED Administrators for outstanding achievement at its annual conference.
