BACK FROM THE LIGHT interviews over a dozen Near Death Survivors, including NYT Best-Selling author of "To Heaven and Back" Dr. Mary Neal, author Dave Bennett, as well as medical professionals and researchers exploring the often untold story about life after a Near Death Experience. The emotional and physical challenges are very real, apart from subject accounts of perceptions while clinically dead.
On August 3rd, 2013, film director & producer Robert Neal Marshall suffered the "Widow Maker" heart attack and was clinically dead for 1 1/2 minutes. As he was remarkably in an Ambulance at the time he went into V-Fib, paramedics were able to shock his heart causing him to flatline. By miracle, they resuscitated him by using CPR. Marshall teamed up with another Near Death Survivor, Yvonne Sneeden, who had also been "In The Light" and together they produced BACK FROM THE LIGHT. These aftereffects have a life-long impact on not only the experiencer, but for loved ones, family and friends. "What would you do if a loved one died…then came back to talk about it?"
A graduate of New York University Film, Robert Neal Marshall worked for over a year as Casting Associate with Casting Director Pat Moran, C.S.A. (THE WIRE, HAIRSPRAY, HOMICIDE:LIFE ON THE STREET) and was a proud member of the team to win an Emmy® Award for casting GAME CHANGE starring Julianne Moore, directed by Jay Roach and an Emmy® Nomination for casting Season one of VEEP starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, both for HBO.
In the early 1980's Robert worked in the West End of London as Assistant to late producer Richard Armitage on several hit shows, including ME AND MY GIRL starring Emma Thompson & Robert Lindsay, HIGH SOCIETY starring Natasha Richardson, directed by Richard Eyre, THE ENTERTAINER, and Rowan Atkinson's one man show A NEW REVUE. While in London Robert produced and directed the successful West End debut of IS THERE LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? at the Donmar Warehouse.
Current projects include a two man play PROVIDENCE OF THE HEART, his musical RUMPELSTILTSKIN'S DAUGHTER, and a dramatic play adaptation, 41N 50W, based on the 1912 Titanic US Senate hearings, all under development for larger production in both the United Kingdom and the United States.
