"We are so happy to be attending the AAS Conference," says Kristen Tate, EFA Events chairperson. "This is a wonderful opportunity to meet with Asian Studies scholars from around the world. Our freelancers work with clients in a wide variety of academic and professional disciplines and we look forward to connecting with everyone at the conference."

The Association for Asian Studies Annual Conference, the largest gathering of individuals devoted to the study of Asia, brings together over 3,000 attendees each year from across the globe, fostering connection  between scholars, students, librarians, and historians. Nearly 500 sessions will be presented at the 2024 conference, which will also showcase a film expo featuring more than 20 films from a range of countries including South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Malaysia. The expo is curated by the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies.

The AAS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the field of Asian Studies through international exchange, networking, publications, research support, and career development. It was originally founded in 1941 as publisher of the Far Eastern Quarterly (now the Journal of Asian Studies).

Founded in 1970, the Editorial Freelancers Association is a national nonprofit professional organization with more than 3,000 members, including writers, editors, copy editors, proofreaders, indexers, translators and others who work in publishing, communications and related fields.

The EFA has garnered praise from publishing pros like Jane Friedman and Louise Harnby and is frequently listed as a valuable resource for authors on sites including Flatpage, BookBub, Publishers Weekly, Poynter, AMWA (the American Medical Writers Association), and the Chicago Manual of Style blog.
