Engineering conference in Montreal debuts 2 symposiums on AI, Lean and Six Sigma

By: PRLog

NORCROSS, Ga. - March 11, 2024 - PRLog -- Industrial and systems engineers will gather in Montreal, Canada, for the profession's Annual Conference & Expo May 18-21. The international event hosted by the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) offers two new preconference options on May 18 at the Montréal Convention Centre.

A Lean and Six Sigma Symposium features practical applications across a wide range of industries on topics such as the integration of artificial intelligence with Lean Six Sigma, digital transformation and industry-specific case studies led by thought leaders and practitioners. Mark Graban, an internationally recognized consultant, published author, professional speaker, blogger, podcaster and entrepreneur, is the featured speaker.

An Artificial Intelligence Symposium of academic and research leaders focuses on the ethics and risks of AI along with its possibilities applied to business, industry, government and healthcare. The keynote speakers are Joé T. Martineau, an assistant professor in ethical management at HEC Montreal, a public business school; and Foutse Khomh, a Canada CIFAR AI Chair at Mila and a professor at the Department of Computer Engineering and Software Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal.

Following these kickoff events, the Annual Conference continues with three days of educational sessions punctuated by town hall meetings, an exhibit hall, keynote presentations, community service projects and ongoing networking opportunities. Attendees will also celebrate award recipients honored throughout the week.

In the March issue of ISE magazine, IISE's CEO and Fellow Don Greene discussed how the Annual Conference delivers a program packed with "presentations that will give you intriguing, exclusive glimpses of game-changing research and practical applications in academic and industry settings."

Greene, an industrial engineering graduate of Georgia Tech, added: "I can't say enough how Annual can make a difference in not only your year but your lifetime."
