Patton's New Session Border Controller Addresses Mid-Size Market Gap

By: PRLog

Supporting 500 to 35,000 SIP Sessions, the SmartNode SN11000 covers capacity requirements spanning large enterprises, government, and service providers.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - June 18, 2024 - PRLog -- SmartNode™ VoIP…More than just talk!

GAITHERSBURG, MD: Patton—US manufacturer of world-class voice and data network equipment and solutions—announces its newest addition to the SmartNode Session Border Controller (SBC) product line: the SmartNode SN11000 Series.

"The SN11K is the first SBC available that spans the middle-market gap," said Burton A. Patton, Chief Revenue Officer at Patton. "Call capacity scales from five hundred to a staggering thirty-five thousand SIP sessions.

"Finally, small, medium, rural, and Tier II service providers have access to an SBC solution that ideally serves their needs," Burt said.

Versatile Applications. Patton's latest addition to its SBC portfolio can provide every type of service a large enterprise, Tier II provider, or Telecom operator might want to offer. Possible use cases include:

  • Enterprise SIP Trunking
  • Carrier Interconnect
  • Call Center
  • VoLTE/VoWiFi – Voice over Long Term Evolution/Voice over Wireless Fidelity
  • UCaaS – Unified Communications as a Service
  • MS-Teams Direct Routing
  • Service Provider WebVoice
  • STIR/SHAKEN security scenarios – Secure Telephone Identity Revisited/Signature-based Handling of Asserted information using toKENs

Additional use cases such as Voice Wholesale, International Gateways, Domestic Interconnect Exchanges, NGN networks for TDM to IP conversion, and IMS networks are also supported.

Rich Feature Set. The SN11000 comes with all the state-of-the-art advanced features and functions a service provider needs in order to implement the services detailed above. Here are just a few of them:
  • High Reliability. The units support redundancy configuration for call continuity. In the event of a single SBC failure, the standby unit seamlessly takes over all the calls along with media.
  • Super Secure. Built-in security features at every layer—TLS and SRTP encryption, topology hiding, and Call Admission Control for example—safeguard against threats and attacks, ensuring safe, uninterrupted service.
  • Management Tools. Rich analytic and diagnostic tools provide insights into operational as well as business data, empowering providers with actionable information.
  • Transcoding. Cost-effective, license-based transcoding for up to 3000 sessions—without expensive DSP resources—provides significant cost savings.
Availability. The SN11000 Series is now available for pre-order. For pricing and additional information, visit the SmartNode SN11000 product web page.
