About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Pondurance Launches New Channel Partner Program

Tim Horigan, Pondurance Director of Channel, Selected as 2022 CRN Channel Chief

Pondurance, a leader in Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, announced today the launch of its new channel program, the Pondurance Channel Partner Program. The program enables solution providers, managed service providers (MSPs) and systems integrators to reduce cybersecurity risks for their clients, while tapping into new revenue streams. Pondurance also announced today that CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, has named its Director of Channel, Tim Horigan, to the 2022 Channel Chiefs list. CRN’s annual Channel Chiefs project identifies top IT channel vendor executives who continually demonstrate expertise, influence and innovation in channel leadership.

A recent report developed for Pondurance by 451 Research, Unraveling Threat Detection and Response Solutions, noted that, “Over 42% of surveyed organizations believe their security staffing level is inadequate to handle the cybersecurity threats their organizations are facing today, with 70% identifying challenging hiring conditions.” The Pondurance Channel Partner Program is designed to help partners grow and scale their cybersecurity businesses by enabling them to address this need for security resources and expertise. The program provides training and support tools including self-paced online or hands-on sales training, case studies, solution architectures with reference guides and blueprints. All training and support programs are completely free for members of the program.

“Our channel partners are central to our cybersecurity ecosystem,” said Tim Horigan. “Through this program, our partners have the tools, training and support they need to bring world-class MDR, Incident Response and security services to their customers. We’ve been fortunate to attract some great partners–real cybersecurity leaders in their own right–to our program in this first year, and we look forward to investing in their continued success and in the safety and security of their customers with Pondurance solutions.”

At launch, the Pondurance Channel Partner Program is composed of more than 130 value added resellers (VARs), cybersecurity consultants, managed service providers, hosting services providers (HSPs) and service provider agents across North America. Program partners are classified into one of three tiers – Elite, Premier or Associate – based on total sales and revenue volume, sales skills and certifications, and technical skills and certifications.

Membership in the program provides an array of benefits, including:

  • Access to a fast-growing security category
  • Differentiated and diversified services
  • Strong incentives and margins
  • A national team of channel account managers who work closely with partners
  • Co-marketing funds to power partner activities
  • End-to-end partner enablement to accelerate revenue opportunities

“Our new Channel Partner Program is critical to extending the reach of those security services required to help organizations identify, contain, eradicate and recover from cyber attacks,” said Lyndon Brown, Chief Strategy Officer of Pondurance. “It’s wonderful to see our very own channel leader, Tim Horigan, recognized as a 2022 CRN Channel Chief. It reinforces that our channel partners are in great hands with Tim and the rest of our dedicated channel team, who are focused on our partners’ success through innovative cybersecurity solutions.”
