Paul Irving brings extensive experience advising leaders in business, investment, philanthropy and academia as well as pioneering work on the future of aging to Manatt's national Health group

Irving, who is based in Los Angeles, is a corporate and nonprofit director and a respected figure in business, health, philanthropy and academia. He remains actively involved as a senior advisor at the Milken Institute, where he previously served as president and founding chair of its Center for the Future of Aging. Irving provides strategic guidance to leaders across the health ecosystem seeking to capitalize on opportunities for investment and innovation in the longevity economy and to address the challenges of population aging across America and the world.

Irving left the Firm in 2010 to accept an Advanced Leadership Fellowship at Harvard University.

Today, as one of the country’s leading authorities on the longevity economy, Irving advises entrepreneurs, investors, philanthropists, companies and policymakers on the evolving health landscape and the promise and potential of healthy longevity. In addition to his service at Manatt and the Milken Institute, Irving is a distinguished scholar-in-residence at the University of Southern California Leonard Davis School of Gerontology.

He is also chair emeritus and a member of the board of CoGenerate and serves on the Global Advisory Council of the Stanford University Distinguished Careers Institute, the Board of Councilors of the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology and the Advisory Board of WorkingNation. Irving has served on the National Academy of Medicine Global Commission on Healthy Longevity and the Bipartisan Policy Center Senior Health and Housing Task Force, and as a participant in the 2015 White House Conference on Aging. He frequently contributes to The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, PBS Next Avenue and Forbes.
