About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Interface Introduces New Flooring Collections and Expands Carbon Negative Product Offerings

Interface, Inc. (NASDAQ: TILE), the global flooring solutions company where everything is certified carbon neutral, recently launched several new flooring collections and expanded its product range featuring the company’s innovative and proprietary carbon negative backing, helping customers reach performance and aesthetic goals with a lower carbon footprint. These latest carpet tile and resilient flooring introductions showcase the company’s commitment to solving customer challenges while contributing to the health of the planet.

New products from Interface include:

  • Modern Trio™: Inspired by the Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau movements, the Modern Trio carpet tile collection combines dots, lines and color in fluid new patterns that reimagine modernist forms while celebrating craftmanship and beauty. Modern Trio’s three styles can be used together to create pattern transitions across the floor or individually for an impactful floorscape. It is currently available in the Americas.
  • noraplan unita™: Featuring the proven performance of nora® rubber, noraplan unita combines solid granite and soft rubber for a timeless, subdued style. The design is deliberately refined and simple, with granite flecks that subtly reflect light to add fascinating depth and mineral shimmer. Available in 20 colorways, noraplan unita is made to the highest standards of quality, durability, and service, providing reduced maintenance and noise, comfort underfoot, and lasting performance. It is currently available in the Americas, EMEA, and select APAC markets.
  • Upon Common Ground™: Developed as part of Interface’s extensive partnership with Australia’s First Nations people, Upon Common Ground centers on the exploration of spaces and habitats in the natural world. This carpet tile collection consists of five biophilic-inspired designs, comprising colorways that represent five key regions of country spaces – Desert, Saltwater, Rainforest, Freshwater, and Spinifex. The collection reflects the company’s unique design ethos and commitment to pioneering new paths and creating a positive impact. It is currently available in Australia and EMEA.

As part of a modular flooring system, architects, designers, and specifiers can easily and efficiently pair Interface carpet tile, LVT, and nora® rubber flooring to create beautiful, positive spaces.

EMEA Expands Carbon Negative Product Range

Continuing its commitment to radically reduce the carbon footprint of its factories, products, and supply chain, Interface has increased the number of products available with CQuest™BioX backing in its European manufacturing this quarter.
