About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Jenzabar’s Student and Finance Systems Are 2023’s #1 Selected Solutions by Private, Not-for-Profit Institutions

This Is the Fourth Consecutive Year Jenzabar’s Student Systems Lead the Market, and Second Consecutive Year for Jenzabar’s Financial Management Solution

Jenzabar, Inc., a leading technology innovator in higher education, today announced that its student and finance systems were once again the most-selected student solution and finance solution in higher education’s private, not-for-profit sector in 2023, according to Tambellini Group’s 2024 annual report on student systems and finance and human capital management systems. This is the fourth consecutive year that Jenzabar’s student systems were the most-selected solutions amongst private, not-for-profit institutions and the second year Jenzabar’s finance system was the most-selected solution.

Jenzabar’s Student Systems Continue to Innovate and Power Student Success

According to Tambellini Group’s 2024 Student Systems US and International Higher Education Market Share, Trends, and Leaders Report, student system selections increased 56% in 2023 compared to 2022. Among the meaningful trends in this year’s student systems market were continued financial pressure, increased focus on student success and experience, the adoption of single-vendor SaaS solutions, and a focus on AI-based student analytics. Jenzabar’s student systems were selected more than any other vendor by private, not-for-profit institutions.

“Higher education institutions are selecting student systems that can drive retention and support modern experiences,” said Vicki Tambellini, Tambellini Group’s CEO and Founder. “We predict similar trends will continue to unfold, especially as colleges and universities further adopt technologies previously unused by campuses, including artificial intelligence and generative AI.”

Jenzabar’s student systems directly integrate with the rest of the Jenzabar ecosystem, enabling institutions to centralize, easily access, and analyze student data alongside data from other departments. This improves collaboration and the ability to make informed decisions that directly impact student success.

Jenzabar Solutions Modernize Financial Management

According to Tambellini’s 2024 Financial Management and Human Capital Management Systems US and International Higher Education Market Share, Trends, and Leaders Report, the trends impacting this year’s system selections included financial pressure, labor and skills challenges, as well as the need for modernization.

Jenzabar’s cloud-native financial management system enables institutions to deploy business operations via the cloud and maximize operational efficiency, collaboration, transparency, and data-informed decision-making.

“As institutions look to modernize their campus, more of them are selecting solutions from a single vendor, so it’s no surprise that Jenzabar’s student and finance systems continue to rank amongst the most-selected solutions in higher education,” said Sam Burgio, COO at Jenzabar. “Not only do we continue to innovate our solutions and provide customers with cutting edge technologies, we make it our mission to be true partners to institutions, making sure they have everything they need to drive institutional and student success.”
