About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Appointees will add depth across the organization to capitalize on the successful launch of DoiT Cloud Intelligence™

DoiT, a global technology company that delivers a robust, intelligent platform powered by industry-defining expertise, today announced the addition of five new senior leaders to the organization. The appointments follow the successful launch of DoiT Cloud Intelligence and aim to further accelerate DoiT’s strong momentum.

The only context-aware multicloud intelligence platform on the market, DoiT Cloud Intelligence lets organizations easily optimize, scale, and innovate in every stage of cloud adoption. It also proactively prevents waste and quickly troubleshoots complex issues in any cloud infrastructure. As a result, organizations of all sizes can use DoiT Cloud Intelligence to more effectively plan, procure, and operate clouds that are secure, resilient, and perform.

“DoiT Cloud Intelligence is designed to cut through the illusion of efficiency in the public cloud,” said Vadim Solovey, chief executive officer of DoiT. “Based on our decade-plus of experience as a company, we knew this would resonate with the market and made proactive plans to fortify our teams in pursuit of that vision. These new roles add depth to critical areas – product management, marketing, sales, finance, and legal – enabling us to meet customer needs and sales demands with a uniquely powerful solution.”

The five new appointees are:

  • Ryan Pugatch, VP of product management. As Head of Product for EY Fabric's Platform and Developer Experience at Ernst & Young, Pugatch led the development of a next-generation technology platform experience, enhancing customer satisfaction, driving revenue growth, and differentiating EY in the market. He has also held technical and leadership roles at Hachette Book Group, Shoebuy.com (IAC/InterActiveCorp), and Tripadvisor. Pugatch holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
  • Kurt Heinemann, VP of marketing. Heinemann brings extensive enterprise go-to-market leadership to DoiT. Previously, he led global marketing teams at Datasaur, Ably, Big Health, Cockroach Labs, and Priceline. Kurt holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
  • Steve Lewis, VP of enterprise sales. A veteran in executive sales and revenue leadership, Lewis has been Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) for Beeline and CloudZero. He was also VP of Sales for Optimizely, holding similar roles for such companies as Amazon Web Services and Oracle.
  • Tyler Cyphers, VP of financial operations. Cyphers was promoted to this post following a consultant role, leading DoiT’s Financial Planning & Analysis function (FP&A). Prior to that, Cyphers led the FP&A efforts for one of DoiT’s largest customers and had a short stint leading his own fractional FinOps/CFO consulting firm. Cyphers also is a principal and co-founder of boutique real-estate investment firm Boring Capital.
  • Amanda Hall, general counsel. Hall’s legal expertise dates back nearly two decades, with her most recent contributions as VP of Legal at Ontinue. Hall was previously VP at Cybereason, and worked for VMware Carbon Black, Iron Mountain and Progress Software Corporation. Hall also held board seats at the New England Council and Raising A Reader MA (a GreenLight Fund organization), the latter of which she served as chairperson. Hall earned her J.D. from Suffolk University.
