About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Manatt Continues to Expand Digital Health Bench in New York

Joshua Tauber brings extensive growth and operating experience as an entrepreneur and executive working across a wide range of digital health, employee benefits, payer and state government matters

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, a multidisciplinary, integrated professional services firm, announced the arrival of Managing Director Joshua Tauber to the Firm’s Health Care industry group. As a respected executive and entrepreneur with experience in both the private and public sectors at the intersection of digital health and innovation, Tauber helps clients to devise and employ growth and operations strategies to expand their businesses, leverage novel technologies and capitalize on new market opportunities.

“Josh’s arrival builds on Manatt’s continued growth in the digital consulting space as we enhance our full spectrum of business advisory services, legal guidance and policy and regulatory support across the industries in which we operate,” said Manatt CEO and Managing Partner Donna L. Wilson. “With our digital and regulatory capabilities spanning our entire platform, we’re constantly looking for leaders who can help further the strategic, policy and business-related opportunities for our clients, so Josh’s unique experience as an entrepreneur, leader and strategy consultant will be invaluable to our clients across health care and beyond.”

Tauber is a seasoned health technology executive with a focus on building capabilities to accelerate growth, rethink operating models, align high-performing teams, and deploy AI and other new technologies all while navigating the continually evolving regulatory landscape. His work has spanned organizations, including payers, employer benefits companies, state government agencies, technology companies and early‑stage digital health companies.

“As the health care industry continues to become increasingly digital, we have been purposefully building teams that can apply an operational or technological lens to the developments impacting our clients’ business needs and strategies, as seen most recently with the arrivals of Chrissy Farr, Tom Cassels, Dr. Shami Feinglass and Melindah Sharma,” said Manatt Health Leader Bill Bernstein. “The digital and strategy experience Josh brings from working in and across a diverse range of government agencies, startups, and leading health companies makes him an ideal addition to the Firm as we provide cutting-edge solutions to stakeholders nationwide.”

Prior to joining Manatt, Tauber was Cofounder and Chief Operating Officer of a virtual care startup providing integrated physical, reproductive and mental health care for Gen Z. He led the company from inception through launch and growth stages, overseeing product, technology, care operations, finance and corporate functions. Before that, he was Chief Operating Officer of a clinical analytics and AI company and was also a leader in the Health and Public Service practice at a global management consulting firm. As a consultant, Tauber launched novel insurance plans, built public and private insurance exchanges, advised CEOs and executive directors, liaised with governor-appointed Medicaid and department of insurance administrators in multiple states and served as lead negotiator with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. His research series on private insurance exchanges was featured in The Wall Street Journal and Harvard Business Review.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join a firm I have long respected and collaborate further with Manatt’s accomplished team of legal and consulting professionals dedicated to advancing health outcomes for patients and communities throughout the country,” said Tauber. “With the Firm actively expanding its unmatched digital health capabilities, it is a particularly exciting time to join as we partner with clients to implement complex initiatives that foster innovation while increasing affordability and access to care for those that need it most.”

Tauber joins the Firm’s roster of legal and consulting professionals who have also joined over the last year across core industry sectors, including Cross-Industry Corporate and Finance (Bill Broome); Digital and Technology (Tim Andrews and Lisa W. Rosaya); Entertainment (Binta Niambi Brown); Financial Services (Warren Biro, Haley Fiallo, Mike Katz, Jessica Sklute, Troy Zander); Government and Regulatory (Richard Leib); Health Care (Haider Andazola, Heide Bajnrauh, Patrick Brennan, Doug Brown, Tom Cassels, Pat Cerundolo, Richard Cho, Christina (Chrissy) Farr, Dr. Shamiram (Shami) Feinglass, Erin Estey Hertzog, Kendall Hussey, Jason Klimek, Anna Lansky, Ross Margulies, John O’Brien, Tina Papagiannopoulos, Lisa Sbrana, Melindah Sharma, Alexander Somodevilla, Jerome (Jerry) Tichner, Mark Wietecha, and Shaina Zurlin); and Cross-Industry Litigation (Schuyler G.
