About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

According to the 2024 Hybrid Cloud Security Survey of more than 1,000 Security and IT leaders, 84 percent agree that deep observability is a foundational element of cloud security. The Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline extracts intelligence directly from network traffic to help eliminate blind spots, optimize network traffic, and make existing security and observability tools up to 90 percent more efficient. This capability is becoming mission-critical for organizations securing and managing complex hybrid cloud infrastructure in today’s dynamic threat landscape.

Leadership Team Expands with Veterans Jarjoura and Bhide

As newly appointed CFO, Jarjoura will lead the global finance team and accounting operations, reporting to Shane Buckley, president and CEO. Jarjoura joined Gigamon in 2020 and has held the positions of vice president of revenue operations, vice president of finance and corporate controller, and most recently as interim CFO. Prior to joining Gigamon, he was senior manager at EY, serving high-tech growth companies in its assurance practice. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from University of San Francisco.

“Tony brings a unique combination of operational insight, financial acumen, and leadership to the CFO role, with a deep understanding of our business, technology, and channel strategy,” said Buckley. "His continued oversight of our financial portfolio and global finance operations will be instrumental as we continue to scale and further strengthen our position in the cybersecurity marketplace."

Bhide will lead the company's product engineering teams across software and hardware to deliver outcome-driven deep observability solutions, reporting to Chief Product and Development Officer Michael Dickman. Prior to joining Gigamon, Ram served as associate vice president of software engineering at Arista Networks, where he led the development of next-generation security solutions to expand the company’s product portfolio. He previously served as vice president of engineering and customer advocacy at SDN pioneer Pluribus Networks, which was acquired by Arista. Prior to these roles, Ram spent more than 20 years in various engineering and software development roles, including as vice president of engineering overseeing flagship products at Cisco. Ram holds five technology patents and a bachelor's degree in computer engineering from the Maharashtra Institute of Technology.

“Ram has a strong track record of engineering innovation and execution in infrastructure and cybersecurity,” said Dickman. “His leadership and expertise will be instrumental as our global development and quality teams continue to address the most critical cybersecurity challenges in today’s hybrid cloud environments with our deep observability pipeline.”
