About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Community Health Systems Improves Quality of Life in Local Communities With Doctors’ Day Donations and Third Annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive

More than $260,000 donated to charitable organizations in honor of physicians

More than 100,000 peanut butter jars donated to community food banks

Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CYH) (“CHS”) announced today that its affiliated hospitals have donated more than $260,000 to charitable organizations in their communities to address social determinants of health and improve quality of life in honor of Doctors’ Day, which was celebrated on Sunday, March 30.

The medical staff at each location selected organizations that address specific needs in the community such as food assistance, housing, children and youth programs, disaster relief and education.

National Doctors’ Day celebrates the dedication and compassion demonstrated by the more than one million physicians who provide healthcare to patients nationwide.

“For the third year in a row, we are recognizing the physicians in every community we serve by supporting organizations that improve the health and well-being of underserved individuals,” said Tim L. Hingtgen, Chief Executive Officer of Community Health Systems, Inc. “We are grateful for the skilled and compassionate care that these physicians provide across our organization. Our Doctors’ Day donations are a small way that we can show our appreciation and make a positive impact in their honor.”

CHS also collected more than 100,000 jars of peanut and other nut butters to donate to more than 60 food banks as part of its third annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive. This enterprise-wide initiative to fight hunger was launched in 2023 because peanut butter, with its high nutritional value and long shelf life, is one of the most requested items by food banks. CHS-affiliated health systems and the corporate office collected jars at hospital facilities and at community locations throughout the month of March.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, food insecurity is on the rise. In 2023, 47.4 million people, including almost 14 million children, lived in households experiencing food insecurity, an increase of 3.2 million over the previous year.

“Access to nutritious food is foundational to overall health. Jars of Love is one more way that we support our communities, raise awareness of the ongoing fight against hunger, and provide tangible support to the food banks that are feeding individuals in the communities we serve. I appreciate the great generosity of our employees, physicians, volunteers and community members who embraced this year’s effort,” said Hingtgen.
