About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Before joining Tranquility AI, Mr. Clark served as the Director of Crime Strategies & Intelligence for Colorado’s 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure, he founded the Crime Strategies Unit, the first of its kind in Colorado and the sixth in the nation. The unit gave prosecutors direct access to dedicated intelligence analysts focused on solving high-priority cases, including homicides, kidnappings, and crimes against children. Over his four years in this role, Mr. Clark testified as an expert witness in over 60 trials, offering critical insights in areas such as cell phone analysis, digital forensics, and vehicle telematics.

While at the Colorado’s 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Clark manually built hundreds of case timelines, giving him firsthand experience with the challenges investigators face when piecing together the massive amount of digital evidence in cases today. This experience will be crucial to Tranquility AI’s development team as they begin to refine and build out new features in TimePilot.

“Kevin brings an invaluable perspective to our team, having worked firsthand in law enforcement and the judicial system to solve some of the most serious crimes,” said Jim Penrose, CEO of Tranquility AI. “His passion for using technology to bring speed and accuracy to criminal investigations aligns perfectly with our mission, and we know he will be instrumental as we continue to build and refine our AI-powered solutions to support investigators nationwide."

Mr. Clark’s law enforcement career also includes seven years with the Colorado Springs Police Department, where he served as a Senior Crime Intelligence Analyst in the Metro Vice, Narcotics, and Intelligence Division. In this role, he focused on identifying prolific offenders, analyzed crime patterns, and pinpointed hotspots where crime was most prevalent. Before this, Mr. Clark was a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force for over nine years.

"Having spent decades in crime intelligence, I understand both the critical role digital timelines play in solving cases and the challenges investigators face in sifting through vast amounts of evidence," said Mr. Clark. "TimePilot is a game changer for investigators. I am excited to introduce it to law enforcement agencies and prosecution offices nationwide, and empower them to easily piece together the full story and accelerate the path to justice."

Mr. Clark’s distinguished career has been recognized with numerous awards, including the 2023 Justice Award from Colorado's 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office, 2019 Civilian of the year from the Colorado Springs Police Department, and Intelligence Airman of the year from the United States Air Force. He currently serves as a board member of the Police Foundation of Colorado Springs and Banning Lewis Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Homeland Security from the American Military University and a Master of Science in Management from the Colorado Technical University.
