About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Four Gigamon Channel Leaders Recognized on CRN’s 2025 Women of the Channel List

Gigamon channel leaders demonstrate commitment to customer and partner success

Gigamon, a leading deep observability company, today announced that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, named four Gigamon leaders to the 2025 Women of the Channel list. This annual list honors women who are strategic leaders committed to advancing channel excellence and supporting the success of their partners and customers.

Organizations worldwide face an increasingly adversarial cybersecurity landscape, marked by sophisticated, AI-driven threats and the growing complexity of hybrid cloud environments. Gigamon and its channel-first approach continue to uniquely deliver the deep observability global organizations need to better secure and manage their hybrid cloud infrastructure. According to the 2024 Hybrid Cloud Security Survey of more than 1,000 global Security and IT leaders, 84 percent agree that deep observability is a foundational element of cloud security.

“As AI accelerates the complexity of today’s threat landscape, our channel team, including these standout women, is focused on collaborative strategies to help our customers to better secure and manage their hybrid cloud infrastructure,” said John Giacomini, chief revenue officer. “Each of these leaders has demonstrated a deep commitment and dedication to empowering our global channel partners. Today’s recognition is a direct reflection of their achievements and the incredible impact they’ve made across our channel and business.”

The four honorees include:

  • Dee Dee Acquista, vice president of worldwide channel sales: Since joining Gigamon in 2023, Acquista has led the company’s channel-first strategy, elevating the Gigamon Catalyst Partner Program and further expanding customer adoption of the Gigamon Deep Observability Pipeline.
  • Helena Marsikova, senior channel marketing manager: Marsikova is a successful marketing leader with nearly 20 years of experience in the information technology and services industry. She is responsible for Gigamon global channel marketing programs and supports the company’s North America National Partners and Distributors, as well as field and channel marketing activities in Latin America.
  • Tina Morettin, senior channel manager and senior partner business manager: A passionate and energetic channel leader with more than 20 years of experience, Morettin is consistently recognized as a top performer. Tightly aligned with field sales, executive management, engineering, and marketing, she excels at cross-functional collaboration to drive growth and results.
  • Heather Howard, distribution account manager: With over 20 years of experience in channel sales, Howard brings a commitment to excellence in managing and expanding distributor relationships across North America. Her role as distribution account manager is grounded in advancing go-to-market strategies that cultivate partnerships and drive our shared success in a competitive tech landscape.

“It’s an honor to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of these women, who are leaders and change-makers in the IT channel,” said Jennifer Follett, VP, U.S. Content and Executive Editor, CRN at The Channel Company. “Each woman spotlighted on this list has shown exceptional dedication to building creative strategies that propel transformation, growth, and success for their organizations and the entire IT channel. We are pleased to spotlight their important contributions and look forward to their future success.”

The Gigamon Catalyst Partner Program and its accomplished leadership team have consistently been recognized by CRN over the past year, including a 5-Star Rating in the 2025 CRN Partner Program Guide and being named as a CRN Channel Chief.
