About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

CookUnity Adds Cat Cora, Pino Luongo, and Art Smith to its Elite Roster of Chefs Nationwide.

Since the start of 2025, CookUnity has brought on nine new chefs to the platform and helped six existing chefs expand to new markets, bringing consumers greater access to even more talented chefs across the US and Canada. The platform empowers chefs by managing logistics, packaging, and delivery, allowing them to focus on their craft, build commercially successful food businesses, and connect directly with customers. To date, the average chef on CookUnity earns $750,000 annually.

"One of the main frustrations consumers experience with most meal delivery services is that they quickly get bored of the food due to limited menus,” said Cam Ferrin, VP of Brand Marketing at CookUnity. “With our chefs in constant creation mode, we’re able to offer category-leading variety with hundreds of meals available every week. Our spring campaign celebrates the unmatched variety made possible by our chef partners and taps into the natural variety of the season, giving our community meaningful choices—meals with personality, stories, and soul.”

New CookUnity Chefs

Chef Art Smith (Chicago): Smith is the Executive Chef and co-owner of six restaurants and two non-profit organizations. He has received the culinary profession's highest honors, including a James Beard award, and cooked for several celebrities, notably being Oprah’s day-to-day personal chef for ten years. Smith has appeared on television throughout most of his career, including Top Chef, Iron Chef, and The Today Show.

“To stay fresh and create bold recipes, reinvention is critical. And CookUnity is a game-changing solution for chefs who want to spend more time experimenting and less time on logistics,” said Chef Art Smith.

Chef Pino Luongo (New York): A pioneering Italian restaurateur and culinary icon, Luongo is known for bringing the authentic flavors of Tuscany to the American dining scene. Beyond his success as a restaurateur, Luongo is also a memoirist and cookbook author, sharing his culinary philosophy through books like Simply Tuscan and La Mia Cucina Tocscana.

"CookUnity has flipped the traditional food model on its head, while still providing an endless runway for creativity in the kitchen. Building my spring menu was a great creative challenge, as it has been my favorite season since childhood. Every meal evokes simplicity and prioritizes fresh-picked ingredients, and I can’t wait to see the response,” said Luongo.

Chef Cat Cora (Los Angeles): A world-renowned chef, author, restaurateur, television host, philanthropist, and a trailblazer in the Mediterranean food space. Cora trained at the Culinary Institute of America and went on to cook at two 3-star Michelin restaurants in France, opened more than 18 restaurants across the U.S., and was crowned the first female Iron Chef, and was also the first female inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame.

"CookUnity has done something truly unprecedented–giving chefs the power to scale their food businesses in a way that maintains authenticity,” said Cora. As I was developing my introductory spring menu, I leaned heavily into Mediterranean flavors because it's my soul food. Thanks to the platform's advanced technology, I get real-time updates on how the meals are resonating with the community, which is a huge advantage as I plan what I will create next season."

Each chef brings a unique culinary perspective, adding new layers of flavor, tradition, and creativity to CookUnity’s constantly evolving menu.
