About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

CyberSheath Names Tech and Cybersecurity Veteran Emil Sayegh as CEO

CyberSheath, the largest CMMC managed service vendor in the DIB, has appointed Emil Sayegh as Chief Executive Officer. Company founder Eric Noonan will transition to Strategic Advisor, continuing to support the organization after more than a decade of leadership as it enters its next phase of growth.

Sayegh comes in at a critical time when the Department of Defense is mandating rapid implementation of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) across all new contracts beginning Oct. 1, 2025. These directives follow a recent Pentagon memorandum that orders a full review of cloud and IT systems, bans procurement of technologies susceptible to foreign adversary influence, and formally designates CMMC as a cornerstone of defense cybersecurity enforcement.

CyberSheath’s planned leadership transition comes at an inflection point in the company’s evolution as cybersecurity standards in the defense industry are scrutinized to ensure national and economic security. Under Noonan’s guidance, the company established itself as a trusted partner to some of the most security-conscious organizations in the country, building a foundation for continued market leadership in delivering measurable security outcomes.

Sayegh brings more than 20 years of executive experience scaling managed service providers and cybersecurity organizations. Most recently, he served as CEO of multiple private equity-backed companies, including Ntirety, Hostway Services, and Codero Hosting, where he led successful growth strategies and built comprehensive cybersecurity and compliance platforms. He has developed channel partnerships, expanded market reach, and built high-performing teams focused on customer success.

“After 13 years building CyberSheath into what it is today, I’m confident this is the right time to pass the torch to someone who can take us to the next level,” said Noonan. “Emil’s experience scaling cybersecurity service organizations and deep understanding of what it takes to serve enterprise clients make him the perfect leader for our next chapter of growth.”

“The foundation Eric and this team have built is remarkable,” Sayegh added. “With CMMC becoming mandatory and federal directives reinforcing its urgency, our mission has never been more vital. My focus will be on accelerating the momentum already in place, supporting our customers through this high-stakes transition, and making CyberSheath the undisputed leader in securing the defense supply chain.”

CyberSheath has helped hundreds of DOD contractors with CMMC compliance over the years and has routinely supported assessments that were executed ahead of schedule. With third-party certification becoming mandatory in 2026 and the final CMMC rule already submitted for regulatory review, CyberSheath is uniquely positioned to lead the industry through this pivotal transformation. The company remains committed to investing in its people, platform, and partnerships to support long-term growth and customer success in the DIB and beyond.

CyberSheath is backed by BV Investment Partners, which invested in the company to support its mission of securing the defense supply chain. Since BV’s investment, CyberSheath has expanded its reach and capabilities, and continues to scale in response to accelerating demand for CMMC compliance and managed security services.

Sayegh will share further remarks at CyberSheath’s virtual conference, CMMC CON 2025, the longest-running CMMC event, on Sept. 24-25. Register now to hear from Sayegh and a deep bench of industry experts as CMMC implementation draws closer.
