About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

This year’s festival delivered a one-of-a-kind experience, blending the groundbreaking Science & Innovation Symposium with premier wine tastings, curated culinary experiences, and a live performance by Grammy-award winning rock band Train.

For the past 31 years, One Mind has been a driving force in transforming mental health. “The One Mind Music Festival embodies the power of community and collaboration to advance mental health solutions. By bringing together world-class scientists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, philanthropists, and experts with lived experience we are accelerating the future of brain health, transforming care, and inspiring hope,” said One Mind CEO, Dr. Kathleen Pike.

“For more than three decades, One Mind has championed initiatives to break down stigma and advance innovations that empower people facing mental health challenges to thrive,” said Brandon Staglin, Co-Founder and Chief Advocacy and Engagement Officer of One Mind. “This journey forward is powered by science, creativity, and the lived experiences of individuals around the world who guide us as we drive solutions for a healthier future.”

“What began as a deeply personal journey for my family, has grown into a powerful movement accelerating brain health research and transforming lives,” said Shannon Staglin, President of Staglin Family Vineyard. “Year after year, the festival brings together a dedicated community of supporters, scientists, advocates, and friends who share our belief that mental health is health—and that recovery is possible.”

The festival began with the Science & Innovation Symposium, made possible by Kaiser Permanente. The symposium united leading scientists and visionaries to spotlight revolutionary innovations shaping the future of mental health. An inspiring and heartfelt keynote was presented by Dr. Regina Dugan, President & CEO of Wellcome Leap, and Dr. Susanne Ahmari, Program Director at Wellcome Leap, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and 2018 One Mind Rising Star Award recipient, followed by presentations from One Mind’s 2025 Rising Star Awardees, One Mind Accelerator CEO / Founders of Ampa Health and Freedom Biosciences, and a fireside chat with leaders from One Mind at Work and the One Mind Lived Experience Council.

The highly anticipated concert program opened with remarks from leading partners who have been instrumental in advancing brain science and mental health initiatives. Bank of America’s Liz Minick, Managing Director, Senior Business Controls Executive and California State Executive, and Bristol Myers Squibb’s Laura Gault, Senior VP, Head of Development, Neuroscience, addressed the audience with inspiring words of support, underscoring their organizations’ commitment to driving innovation and impact. Their introductions set the stage for an unforgettable concert performance by Train.

The festival was punctuated with an electrifying concert by Train, made possible through the generous support of JaM Cellars. The packed tent came alive as the Grammy Award–winning band powered through signature hits like “Drops of Jupiter” and “Hey, Soul Sister,” keeping the dance floor full from start to finish. Between songs, lead singer Pat Monahan highlighted the importance of mental health in every community and commended attendees for their contributions to advancing brain science and mental health.

Guests savored an acclaimed wine-tasting reception featuring over 70 premier vintners from Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, and more, paired with gourmet hors d'oeuvres from Chef Dustin Valette of Valette restaurant in Healdsburg. For VIP ticket holders, the evening reached new heights of culinary artistry with a four-course dinner under the stars, masterfully crafted by Italian-born veteran chef Angelo Auriana, leaving attendees captivated and delighted. During the VIP dinner, One Mind also recognized Armand de Maigret, Estate Manager of Screaming Eagle Winery, with the prestigious Honored Vintner Award, celebrating his dedication and contributions to the festival each year.
