About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Rising Actor and Filmmaker Tsalta Baptiste co-stars in the new George Floyd biopic film on Hulu

By: Get News
Actor Tsalta Baptiste is making history again as the co-star of a much-awaited biopic film about George Floyd, a widely talked-about movie during the Cannes Film Festival.

Internationally recognized Actor and Filmmaker Tsalta Baptiste continues to honor iconic figures in the Black community on camera after co-starting in “The Gentle Giant,” a new biopic film about George Floyd which premiered at the Cannes Festival early this month and is currently airing on Hulu.

The Gentle Giant revolves around the story of Bridgett Floyd, sister of George Floyd, whose killing by Minneapolis police made worldwide headlines.

The movie is led by a powerhouse cast and crew that include fresh talent Director Andre Muir of SMUGGLER, who also represents such talented directors as Jonah Hill and Barry Jenkins – director of the Oscar winning film “Moonlight,” and Ad Council, whose Love Has No Labels campaign won an Emmy. The short film is an extension of that campaign and solidified by R/GA, which won the Agency of the Year Award at the Cannes Festival in 2015.

Tsalta Baptiste adds a unique flavor to the cast given his impressive track record of biopic success in China where he earned global recognition.

Movie fans looked forward to the release of “The Gentle Giant,” which serves as the first film about George Floyd. Its premiere at the Cannes Festival, an immense platform that provides a rendezvous for people interested in the art and influence of the movies, spells how calls for racial justice have touched nearly every aspect of people’s lives.

In the movie, Tsalta Baptiste plays Dorian, the husband of Bridgett Floyd. He says, “It is an honor to be advocating with the Floyd family, my community, and the future of the world through my passion as an actor and storyteller. People on set kept telling me that Bridgett hand-picked me to play her husband in this story.”

As a Black American, he starred in and directed the self-produced film “Until the End of Time” which was shot in and released in China. The semi-biopic film was the first narrative project about Tupac Shaker’s life before the release of the domestic biopic All Eyes on Me in 2016.

Taking the world by storm, Tsalta garnered interest from leading publications that include Rolling Stone, The NY Times, Vice, and 60 others in 12 countries.

As he continues to carve out his place in the industry, Tsalta announced that he has a one-man play in the works and is also set to host the first-ever Black Horror Film Festival this October at The Britely Social Club in West Hollywood. He is inviting filmmakers to submit to the Festival, and in addition, producers and agents to attend.
