About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Nassau National Cable Expands B2B Operations, Supporting Critical Infrastructure Projects Across Key U.S. Industries

By: Get News

Great Neck, NY - July 25, 2025 - Nassau National Cable, a wire and cable distributor based in New York, has expanded its business-to-business operations to support a broader range of industrial sectors engaged in time-sensitive and technically demanding projects. The company reports recent logistical and engineering coordination efforts with clients in renewable energy, defense infrastructure, and experimental power generation.

Originally founded in 2009, Nassau National Cable (NNC) transitioned into e-commerce in 2013 and has since developed a supply model designed to meet urgent bulk-order requirements for public and private sector clients. According to internal documentation, the company recently supplied custom cable assemblies for modular clean energy systems deployed in remote and disaster-response settings. The cables were pre-cut and delivered in formats that facilitated assembly in space-constrained environments.

In another instance, NNC provided power cables to a government-affiliated contractor working under restrictive disclosure protocols for defense-related infrastructure. Despite limited technical information available at the time of procurement, the company delivered product suited to general utility-grade specifications on an accelerated timeline.

Additionally, Nassau National Cable has engaged with a domestic fusion energy research entity to provide milestone-based delivery of wire and cable for a developing power reactor system. The project required ongoing coordination with engineering teams as equipment needs evolved over the course of the R&D cycle.

“These projects reflect what we do best, supporting high-pressure, high-complexity jobs with a combination of technical fluency and dependable logistics,” said Karellys Mattos, Nassau president. “We’re not just shipping products; we’re contributing to operational success across some of the most advanced and time-sensitive industries in the world.”

The company’s fulfillment structure includes inventory management tailored to sectors such as transportation, marine, energy storage, mining, and data infrastructure. In each case, product delivery was tied to installation deadlines and included coordination of bulk logistics within the continental United States.

A representative from Nassau National Cable described the company’s role in these projects as “providing materials in step with project demands.” No further comment was offered regarding the scope or duration of ongoing engagements.

Nassau National Cable continues to serve approximately 80,000 clients in 2024, with active fulfillment infrastructure supporting nationwide shipments. The company’s product catalog includes a range of wire and cable types used in industrial, commercial, and institutional systems. Inventory and procurement requests are processed through the company’s digital platform at https://nassaunationalcable.com.
