About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

BBB Septic’s Jon Jouvenaux to Deliver "Our Journey to a CleanWater Farm" at 2025 Onsite Wastewater Mega-Conference

BBB Septic, a trailblazer in wastewater innovation, announced that Jon Jouvenaux will deliver a scheduled presentation titled “Our Journey to a CleanWater Farm” at the Onsite Wastewater Mega-Conference 2025 in Sandusky, Ohio. The session will showcase the revolutionary CleanWater Farm nutrient recycling process, a sustainable solution easing Northwest Arkansas’ infrastructure demands.

CleanWater Farm transforms wastewater from septic and portable toilets into valuable resources. The process filters wastewater, treats it with natural additives to eliminate pathogens and odors, and applies it to fields for hay production. BBB Septic is actively pursuing permits to expand the process to irrigate a retail tree farm and convert solids into bio-char, a charcoal that could be used as a great soil amendment product or air filtration in livestock facilities. This innovative system reduces strain on municipal wastewater networks while boosting local agriculture.

“CleanWater Farm is a game-changer for our growing region,” said Jon Jouvenaux. “By recycling nutrients responsibly, we’re supporting farmers and preserving our environment for future generations. I’m thrilled to share our story at the Onsite Wastewater Mega-Conference 2025 to raise awareness of innovative wastewater solutions, helping inform governing authorities to make forward-thinking decisions on permitting.”

Hosted by the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (NOWRA), the Mega-Conference, held October 19–22 at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center, unites industry leaders to explore cutting-edge wastewater solutions. Jouvenaux’s presentation will dive into CleanWater Farm nutrient recycling’s advanced filtration and de-watering techniques, which produce clean water for irrigation or absorption into underground water tables.

The process starts with collecting wastewater from regional customers, followed by filtration to remove debris. After treatment, the liquid is spread across designated fields via a specialized vehicle or processed through de-watering to separate solids. The resulting clean water nourishes fields or flows into absorption areas, ensuring minimal environmental impact. BBB Septic is seeking permits to expand this process to include tree farm irrigation and bio-char production, innovative approaches that require regulatory support due to their uncommon nature.

With Northwest Arkansas’ rapid growth straining utilities, CleanWater Farm offers a sustainable path forward. By repurposing wastewater into agricultural and environmental assets, BBB Septic is redefining wastewater management and advocating for progressive permitting to enable these solutions.
