About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

BitX and Ethiopia Mining Farm Sign Strategic MoU to Pioneer High-Efficiency Web3.0 Bitcoin Mining in Africa

Dubai — May 2025BitX has officially signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ethiopia Mining Farm, marking a major milestone in its expansion across the African continent. This partnership will see BitX deploy its flagship Bit-X V2 Accelerator at mining operations in Ethiopia, driving efficiency and enabling a new era of decentralized Web3.0 mining infrastructure.

With Bitcoin mining entering a new age defined by smart efficiency over hardware scale, BitX’s AI-driven acceleration technology is setting a new global standard. The Bit-X V2 Accelerator boosts hashrate efficiency by up to 100% without requiring new hardware, reducing energy waste while maximizing mining productivity. This collaboration aims to empower emerging markets like Ethiopia to become competitive players in the global mining economy—without relying on massive capital or access to cheap electricity.

"Ethiopia presents a powerful combination of untapped energy resources and digital transformation potential," said Brian Ashe, CEO of BitX. "This partnership is more than just a tech deployment—it’s about enabling equitable access to Bitcoin production through our Web3.0 mining ecosystem."

The Ethiopia Mining Farm team also expressed confidence in BitX’s breakthrough performance:

"By integrating Bit-X V2 into our mining infrastructure, we expect to double our output efficiency. It’s a leap forward that positions us for long-term competitiveness in a rapidly evolving market."

Under the agreement, BitX will accelerate up to 20,000 mining machines in Ethiopia within 2025, with further scaling planned across the region. As part of its Web3.0 Mining Ecosystem, BitX will also launch a Shared Accelerator Program—allowing global users to participate in decentralized mining by co-owning AI-powered acceleration contracts, starting from as little as $100.

This collaboration reflects BitX’s vision to decentralize and democratize mining, turning isolated regions into vital nodes of the global Bitcoin infrastructure. By combining AI technology, real-time data optimization, and performance-based profit sharing, BitX is building a smarter, more inclusive mining landscape—one that aligns with the core ethos of Web3.0: transparency, accessibility, and empowerment.

With successful deployments already underway in Central Asia and North America, the Ethiopia MoU represents a pivotal chapter in BitX’s mission to reshape the future of mining. Africa now joins a growing global network of partners working with BitX to redefine the economics of Bitcoin production through innovation—not just capital.
