About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Pellet Fertilizer Alternative | Liquid Lawn Care Subscription Pack Launched

Unlike traditional fertilizers, which often contain high-risk chemicals that can be ingested by pets and young children, and which cause toxic runoff in local waterways, Gnome Technologies’ products are completely harm-free.

More details can be found at https://trygnome.com/pages/learn

The launch of their new liquid fertilizer line coincides with a recent exposé from The Guardian. Citing a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it reported that glyphosate, a toxic chemical routinely found in off-the-shelf standard herbicides and fertilizers, was found present in 80% of urine samples drawn from children and adults in the US. This was a reason for strong concern given glyphosate’s proven links as a cancer-causing agent.

As such, Gnome Technologies believes that the time to make the switch to chemical-free, natural lawn care solutions is now. With their new liquid spray line, they are confident that homeowners can say goodbye to both dusty and dangerous fertilizer pellets and harsh herbicides.

It has also now been well established that traditional fertilizers are an environmental hazard. A recent study by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology revealed that less than half of the volume of traditional fertilizers is beneficially absorbed by lawns and plants. The rest becomes harmful runoff in waterways or is broken down by microbes in the soil and then released into the atmosphere as the highly damaging greenhouse gas nitrous oxide.

In contrast, Gnome’s sophisticated liquid delivery system vastly enhances the absorption of their product, eliminating both run-off and nitrous oxide emissions.

Home gardeners who are interested in having healthy and thriving green lawns that are safe for family use and beneficial to the environment are now able to select from the brand’s three liquid lawn elixirs.

Gnome has three distinct fertilizer combinations which address different components of lawn health. These advanced formulations are called Soil Balance, Green Glow and Iron Strength. For a spongy, green lawn, the brand recommends the application of each one at different times during the year.

The brand’s liquid spray pouches can be attached to any garden hose head for full lawn coverage.

Gnome Technologies was founded by a passionate young duo who believed that there was a better way to do lawn care. In developing their cutting-edge formulations, they consulted the US’ top scientists and horticulturists.

A spokesperson for the company said, “Our mission is to respect the planet, especially the dirt, and to empower people to save the world one patch at a time.”
