About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

South Korean Medical Device Company Spine MT Was Clinically Proven of Its Effectiveness as Non-surgical Disc Decompression Treatment for Herniated Intervertebral Disc “Published in International Journal”

Sacramento, California, United States - 10-02-2022 (PR Distribution™) -

Spine MT(SpineMT K1) announced on the 30th that a spinal decompression treatment device developed with its new medical device technology was published in the International Journal of Clinical Practice, titled “Effect of Nonsurgical Spinal Decompression on Intensity of Pain and Herniated Disc Volume in Subacute Lumbar Herniated Disc”.

A characteristic of the study conducted by Professor Pyong-bok Lee's team at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital in Korea revealed through magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that non-surgical spinal disc decompression treatment can reduce the size of the prolapsed disc in patients with lumbar disc herniation.

The Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine Team that conducted the study reported that the device effectively reduced the size and pain of a prolapsed disc by applying a total of 10 treatments for 30 minutes for 8 weeks to a patient with subacute lumbar herniation. Therefore, it was suggested that non-surgical spinal decompression therapy would be a suitable treatment for lumbar disc herniation.

In addition, Professor Won-Ahn Kwon of the Department of Physical Therapy at Daegu Health College said that, unlike the conventional treatment device, the treatment efficiency could be increased because it has the advantage of being able to apply the treatment in three dimensions considering the prolapse direction and the prolapse form of the disc.

He added that pain can be reduced and the size of the prolapsed disc can be reduced by reducing the pressure on the compressed nerve through disc decompression and allowing the disc to heal and recover. It has the advantage of being able to treat spinal imbalances by strengthening the spinal muscles through the mobilization function mounted on the treatment device.

Lumbar disc herniation is a common cause of low back pain and neuromyopathy. Even with severe disc herniation, good clinical results can be obtained through treatment. However, surgical treatment may be considered when a patient has neurological deficits, and conservative management commonly includes education, medication, physical therapy, and epidural steroid injections.

Director Kim In-seop of the Spine Rehabilitation Center of Heemyoung Hospital said, “Disc decompression treatment can be treated without surgery with almost no after-effects or side effects, and there is no pain during treatment, so daily life is possible. So it can help patients suffering from spinal diseases.”

Spine MT’s CEO, In-kyu Kim said, “Spine MT which was developed after many years of research by the domestic medical engineering team is a non-surgical treatment that can be applied to various spinal diseases. It is significant that about 1,000 units have already been distributed and used in spinal hospitals with its original technology,” and added, “It’s different from the conventional spinal disease treatment options as it proves its effectiveness as non-surgical disc decompression treatment.”
