About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Jerome Karam’s City Centre Celebrates Award-Winning BBQ

Houston, Texas, United States - 07-27-2022 (PR Distribution™) -

Jerome Karam’s Houston team at JMK5 Holdings recently celebrated a successful day for one of Mainland City Centre’s top restaurants, Texas Pit Stop BBQ.

Competing in the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Cook-Off, the barbecue restaurant placed not only in the overall Chef’s Award competition but also for Best Chicken.

This recognition in such a large metropolitan area will help attract newcomers to the restaurant and all of Restaurant Row in Mainland City Centre.

Texas Pit BBQ boasts three different locations in the area. The Mainland City Centre location thrives in large part thanks to convenience.

It’s straightforward to access when visiting the City Centre for other activities or driving on I-45 or Emmett F. Lowry Expressway. The restaurant also has locations in La Marque and Galveston.

Competition at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Cook-Off is always a massive challenge for any restaurant going up against the best of the best in the area.

Texas Pit Stop BBQ knew going in that they would be fighting an uphill battle, but they made an impact with their unique dishes. Despite not taking home the top prize, placing brings attention to the small local chain.

Foodies pay close attention to significant cook-offs like these in the area. The restaurant expects an uptick in first-time diners for the rest of the summer. They shift their focus to retaining these new visitors to have them come back to try new things on the menu every time.

This recognition also provides an excellent opportunity for all other restaurants on Restaurant Row in Mainland City Centre. Jerome Karam and his team helped rebuild the area, knowing the potential it is as a hot spot for food and entertainment.

Attracting more people to the area will help highlight the variety of restaurants. It could also be a deciding factor for restaurants to move into Mainland City Centre.

Jerome Karam believes that location has an opportunity to play a considerable role in Restaurant Row growing more and more in Mainland City Centre. Options include Big Phil’s Soul and Creole, Brick and Spoon, and Grazie Italian Kitchen and Pizzeria.

There is space for more restaurants to thrive in this redeveloped area to take advantage of being neighbors with award-winning restaurants.

More information on Texas Pit Stop BBQ, including future cook-offs and competitions, can be found on their website. To learn more about the continued redevelopment of Mainland City Centre, follow up on JMK5 Holdings and Jerome Karam’s plans on their website.
