The Rockwoods have five cats: Maya, Kona, Mele, Leo, and Bella. Maya loves to patrol the neighborhood. She often catches chipmunks and other critters. Today, she brings back a baby bird. The baby bird is hurt; he may have fallen from a tree. The Rockwoods make him a bed from tissues and give him some food. Soon, the baby bird is all better, and he flies away! Later, the Rockwoods are visited by a little blue jay, just like the one they helped. Could this be the same blue jay? Has their baby bird come home? "The Blue Jay Comes Home" teaches young readers the importance of caring for animals and all the creatures of the world.

About the Author
Gary R. Rockwood, Jr., spent most of his childhood in Hawaii. After graduating from the University of Hawaii, he moved to California, then Fargo, North Dakota, where he met his wife, Kim. Together, they have a son, Gary Rockwood III, and a daughter, Georgia. Gary and his wife currently reside in the Chicago area.
