About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

New Intermountain Health Saratoga Springs Multi-Specialty Clinic and Cancer Center Breaks Ground

Intermountain Health Saratoga Springs Multi-Specialty Clinic and Cancer Center Will Provide Medical Services to One of Fastest Growing Areas in Utah and the Nation

(PRUnderground) April 18th, 2025

Residents of Saratoga Springs and northern Utah County — one of the fastest growing areas in Utah and the nation — will soon have access to more and expanded varieties of care thanks to Intermountain Health.

The new Intermountain Saratoga Springs Multi-Specialty Clinic and Cancer Center will soon offer specialized care for OB-GYN, general surgery, orthopedics, sports medicine, ear nose and throat, audiology, urology, cardiology, pediatrics, gastroenterology, and other medical services thanks to a new Intermountain Saratoga Springs Multi-Specialty Clinic.

“This area is growing, and Intermountain Health is pleased to be able to provide more specialty care in the area,” said Jason Wilson, Intermountain Health American Fork Hospital president.

Intermountain leaders joined with the community in breaking ground today on the new site, situated between the existing Intermountain Saratoga Springs Emergency Department and Intermountain Saratoga Springs Surgery Center, both of which were opened in November 2023.

The new Intermountain Health Saratoga Springs Cancer Center, which will be housed in the clinic, will provide medical oncology, radiation oncology, infusion therapy, and other cancer specialties.

“We are celebrating not because of a new building, but because we’re laying the foundation for something that will truly make a difference in this community,” said Bradon Barney, MD, Intermountain radiation oncology medical director.  “Saratoga Springs continues to grow, and the need for high quality, accessible healthcare — especially cancer care — will grow with it.”

“Patients here will have access to the same cutting-edge technology that they would get at Intermountain Health hospitals in Salt Lake or at Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital,” added Dr. Barney. “That includes retreatments with radiotherapy or chemotherapy. It includes in-office procedures and treatment planning. There’s not really going to be a disease site or a type of cancer that we won’t be able to treat here.”

At the event, cancer patient Laurie Stone described her own experience with and how the Intermountain Saratoga Springs Clinic will benefit residents like her. “We had to travel from Saratoga Springs to America Fork or Utah Valley Hospital. American Fork is about a 25-minute round trip from our house. Utah Valley is about 45 to 50 minutes. Some of the appointments were for testing and all the experiences that we went through to prepare to have the radiation. It was a lot.”

Her husband, Scott, who was also more recently diagnosed with cancer, said, “I’m so grateful for this center being here closer to home and that our community can take advantage of it. Thank you very much.”

“Intermountain also has a very strong belief that cancer care should be delivered close to home,” said Des Dougherty, Intermountain Health’s Canyons Region assistant director in oncology. “Cancer is time consuming for patients and their families. It creates stress and anxiety. Patients and family often have to spend hours in centers on days they feel awful. The treatments can be difficult. Bringing cancer care close to home for these patients and their families is incredibly important.”

“I want to thank our partners from Big D Construction, HKS Architects, city leaders from Saratoga Springs, the Chamber of Commerce, and our leadership from Intermountain Health, who all believe in this community and our mission to help people live the healthiest lives possible,” added Wilson.

The Saratoga Springs Multi-Specialty Clinic was designed by HKS, and will be built by Big-D Construction. The clinic expects to open and start seeing patients fall 2026.
