About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Intermountain Health South Sevier Clinic Moves, Providing Expanded Primary Care Access and Services

New Intermountain Health South Sevier Clinic has new X-ray room, a medical procedure room with minor surgical equipment, and additional clinic space.

(PRUnderground) April 28th, 2025

Intermountain Health South Sevier Clinic in Monroe, Utah, has moved to a new, more convenient location which will expand access for patients in the community.

Located at 238 N. Main Street in Monroe, the clinic includes a new X-ray room, a medical procedure room with minor surgical equipment, and additional clinic space to allow future additional care providers to see patients. The clinic’s new X-ray room will benefit patients needing X-rays and save them from having to travel to nearby Intermountain Sevier Valley Hospital. Patients can also have minor procedures like stitch removal done in the clinic.

The South Sevier Clinic first opened in 2012 at the request of the Monroe City Council to fulfill the needs of the rural community. Since then, Kevin Anderson, PA-C has built the practice to help over 2,000 community members and has provided integrated family, pediatric, and senior medicine.

“That’s a lot,” said Chris Gappmayer, Intermountain Health Medical Group executive director. “For those who work in primary care, that is a large group of patients for any single provider, and Kevin does an extraordinary job of taking care of that group of patients.” Gappmayer added that with the larger clinic space, additional providers will be able to care for patients in the future.

“We have talked about this since we first opened the other clinic,” said Anderson. “Caring for members of our community has always been some of the most rewarding parts of my job here in Monroe, and I appreciate the support of the community and the support of Intermountain Health to help make this happen.”

Anderson, who is also a certified X-ray technician, was honored this year as the Rural Physician Assistant of the Year by the Utah Academy of Physician Assistants. Previously, Anderson was a PA and radiology tech at Intermountain Health North Sevier Clinic and Intermountain Health Sevier Valley Hospital.

Community members and the South Sevier Clinic team expressed optimism about the new clinic in Monroe, and many see the relocation as an investment in the community and local health. One of Anderson’s patients even shared that he was looking forward to experiencing the new clinic resources the next time he falls ill.

Anderson, a native of Monroe, said that he cherishes the opportunity to care for patients who he knows personally. He said in the beginning that he was discouraged from practicing in Monroe by some in the profession because of his personal connection. However, Anderson sees it differently. “It’s very rewarding to care for those I know personally,” he said.

On April 23rd, the Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Monroe City Council, and other community leaders joined with Intermountain leaders and caregivers for a ribbon cutting event to open the clinic.
