About Cabling Installation & Maintenance

Our mission: Bringing practical business and technical intelligence to today's structured cabling professionals

For more than 30 years, Cabling Installation & Maintenance has provided useful, practical information to professionals responsible for the specification, design, installation and management of structured cabling systems serving enterprise, data center and other environments. These professionals are challenged to stay informed of constantly evolving standards, system-design and installation approaches, product and system capabilities, technologies, as well as applications that rely on high-performance structured cabling systems. Our editors synthesize these complex issues into multiple information products. This portfolio of information products provides concrete detail that improves the efficiency of day-to-day operations, and equips cabling professionals with the perspective that enables strategic planning for networks’ optimum long-term performance.

Throughout our annual magazine, weekly email newsletters and 24/7/365 website, Cabling Installation & Maintenance digs into the essential topics our audience focuses on.

  • Design, Installation and Testing: We explain the bottom-up design of cabling systems, from case histories of actual projects to solutions for specific problems or aspects of the design process. We also look at specific installations using a case-history approach to highlight challenging problems, solutions and unique features. Additionally, we examine evolving test-and-measurement technologies and techniques designed to address the standards-governed and practical-use performance requirements of cabling systems.
  • Technology: We evaluate product innovations and technology trends as they impact a particular product class through interviews with manufacturers, installers and users, as well as contributed articles from subject-matter experts.
  • Data Center: Cabling Installation & Maintenance takes an in-depth look at design and installation workmanship issues as well as the unique technology being deployed specifically for data centers.
  • Physical Security: Focusing on the areas in which security and IT—and the infrastructure for both—interlock and overlap, we pay specific attention to Internet Protocol’s influence over the development of security applications.
  • Standards: Tracking the activities of North American and international standards-making organizations, we provide updates on specifications that are in-progress, looking forward to how they will affect cabling-system design and installation. We also produce articles explaining the practical aspects of designing and installing cabling systems in accordance with the specifications of established standards.

Girl Power Talk’s Chief Legal Officer Aashna Duggal Presents at ALSB Annual Conference Alongside Industry and Academic Leaders

Girl Power Talk’s Chief Legal Officer, Aashna Duggal, presented at the ALSB Annual Conference 2025 in Providence, RI, leading impactful discussions on Abraham Lincoln’s legal legacy and the role of AI in reducing business corruption alongside academic and industry leaders.

(PRUnderground) August 25th, 2025

We are proud to announce the participation of our Chief Legal Officer, Aashna Duggal, in two thought-provoking presentations at the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB) Annual Conference 2025, held in Providence, RI.

On July 29, Duggal joined Professor Robert Bird of the University of Connecticut and Sameer Somal, CEO of Blue Ocean Global Technology, to present a paper titled “Abraham Lincoln’s Business Law Career: A Model for Modern Professionals.” This session explored Abraham Lincoln’s profound yet often underappreciated legacy as a lawyer. Before becoming president, Lincoln was a pragmatic, empathetic, and deeply ethical legal practitioner whose career offers timeless insights into integrity, professionalism, innovation, and human-centered practice—qualities needed now more than ever.

The presentation covered Lincoln’s early legal career, his role in corporate advocacy, his patent, and his clear, concise, and fair approach to the law. It concluded that Lincoln’s model of law and leadership remains relevant for modern lawyers, entrepreneurs, and public servants. As Lincoln himself once reflected, “I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true.” His example reminds us that principled leadership, grounded in honesty and service, is as essential today as it was in the nineteenth century.

On July 30, Duggal returned to the stage with Nicole Norval of Eastern Connecticut State University and Sameer Somal for a forward-looking presentation titled: “A Three-Part Question: Can AI Reduce Business Corruption – and Prevent Another FIFA… Another FTX?

The panel examined whether artificial intelligence can improve regulatory compliance, reduce corruption, and strengthen ethical governance. Case applications demonstrated how AI could have identified suspicious financial activities and systemic failures in both FIFA and FTX, providing real-time alerts and recommending remedies for fraud, bribery, and money laundering.

“These discussions at ALSB underscore our commitment at Girl Power Talk to fostering ethical leadership and promoting responsible innovation,” said Duggal. “It was an honor to contribute to these important conversations with such accomplished co-presenters.”

At Girl Power Talk, we believe in nurturing the next generation of leaders in law—professionals who, like Lincoln, will blend technical excellence with integrity, empathy, and courage. We equip young legal minds to lead with principle and shape a more just and transparent future.
