Laser Focus World is an industry bedrock—first published in 1965 and still going strong. We publish original articles about cutting-edge advances in lasers, optics, photonics, sensors, and quantum technologies, as well as test and measurement, and the shift currently underway to usher in the photonic integrated circuits, optical interconnects, and copackaged electronics and photonics to deliver the speed and efficiency essential for data centers of the future.

Our 80,000 qualified print subscribers—and 130,000 12-month engaged online audience—trust us to dive in and provide original journalism you won’t find elsewhere covering key emerging areas such as laser-driven inertial confinement fusion, lasers in space, integrated photonics, chipscale lasers, LiDAR, metasurfaces, high-energy laser weaponry, photonic crystals, and quantum computing/sensors/communications. We cover the innovations driving these markets.

Matexcel, a leading service and product provider in material science for worldwide researchers, now provides a comprehensive list of biodegradable & tissue engineering material products to help building a healthier world.

Tissue engineering is a multidisciplinary field that applies the principles of engineering, life sciences, and cell and molecular biology toward the development of biological substitutes that restore, maintain, and improve tissue functions. Biodegradable materials can find applications as temporary implants (e.g., stents or orthopedic screws or wires), surgical sutures, and also in tissue engineering or drug delivery. Compared with non-degradable materials, biodegradable biomaterials play an increasingly important role in the repairing of severe bone defects and have attracted extensive attention from researchers.

In the treatment of bone defects, scaffolds made of biodegradable materials can serve as a crawling bridge for new bone tissue in the gap and a platform for cells and growth factors to play a physiological role, which will eventually be degraded and absorbed in the body and be replaced by the new bone tissue. In the group of macromolecules, such as natural origin collagen, alginate, agarose, hyaluronic acid derivatives, chitosan, and fibrin glue, have been used as scaffolds. Man-made polymers, such as polyglycolide (PGA), polylactides (PLLA, PDLA), poly (caprolactone) (PCL), and poly (dioxanone) (PDS), have been studied as matrix materials to guide the differentiation and proliferation of cells into the targeted functional premature and/or mature tissue.

Matexcel is a leading product provider in materials science, with years of commitment to supplying better polymers, nanoparticles, and other materials for worldwide customers from both academia and industry. As of now, Matexcel provides a list of biodegradable tissue engineering materials for research needs.
