Laser Focus World is an industry bedrock—first published in 1965 and still going strong. We publish original articles about cutting-edge advances in lasers, optics, photonics, sensors, and quantum technologies, as well as test and measurement, and the shift currently underway to usher in the photonic integrated circuits, optical interconnects, and copackaged electronics and photonics to deliver the speed and efficiency essential for data centers of the future.

Our 80,000 qualified print subscribers—and 130,000 12-month engaged online audience—trust us to dive in and provide original journalism you won’t find elsewhere covering key emerging areas such as laser-driven inertial confinement fusion, lasers in space, integrated photonics, chipscale lasers, LiDAR, metasurfaces, high-energy laser weaponry, photonic crystals, and quantum computing/sensors/communications. We cover the innovations driving these markets.

Spandex Or Elastane Is A Synthetic Fiber Known For Its Exceptional Elasticity

Spandex or elastane is a synthetic fiber known for its exceptional elasticity. Its molecular structure is a chain-like, soft, and extensible polyurethane, enhanced by joining with a rigid chain segment. The elasticity and strength (stretching up to five times its length), of spandex, has been incorporated into a wide range of garments, especially in skin-tight garments.

A benefit of spandex is its significant strength and elasticity and its ability to return to the original shape after stretching and faster drying than ordinary fabrics. For clothing, spandex is usually mixed with cotton or polyester and accounts for a small percentage of the final fabric, which therefore retains most of the look and feel of the other fibers.

The continuous polymerization and dry spinning technology are adopted in production. The product is evenness, chlorine resistance, high-temperature resistance, high elongation, easy dyeing and setting of acid dyes, good anti-static, and good performance.Product quality is stable, at the advanced level at home and abroad. The product gloss: semi-dull and clear. Spandex warping is available.

The evenness and mechanical stability of coarse denier spandex are enhanced by process optimizing. The coarse-denier spandex with high evenness can make the fabrics of warp-knitted plain, weft-knitted and others better structure uniformity.

Uniform evenness. Under the condition of coarse denier, the fabric structure is distributed evenly, preventing theabnormal patterns of fabrics caused by the evenness problem.Because of the uniform tension, the fabric have a stable mechanical effect on all sides.
