Black in Marine Science Appoints Germain Bebe as Chief Innovation Officer

Miami, FL - Black in Marine Science (BIMS) is proud to announce the appointment of Germain Bebe as Chief Innovation Officer (CIO), in addition to his current role as Chief Operating Officer (COO). A dynamic leader with a decade of experience spanning the non-profit, climate-tech, and technology sectors, Bebe will spearhead BIMS's initiatives to drive innovation, develop groundbreaking programs, and cultivate strategic partnerships.

“Germain’s passion for marine science, strategic vision, and leadership abilities, paired with his extensive experience in organizational growth and technological innovation, make him an exceptional fit for this role,” said Dr. Tiara Moore, Founder and CEO of BIMS. “We are confident that he will accelerate our mission to celebrate Black marine scientists, foster environmental awareness, and inspire future generations of scientific leaders.”

As CIO, Bebe will focus on identifying and developing new opportunities for BIMS to amplify its impact and reach. Leveraging his background in Generative AI and product commercialization, Germain will lead innovative AI solutions to address environmental justice and ocean conservation issues. Additionally, he will cultivate strategic partnerships with other organizations and institutions to further BIMS' goals.
