Laser Focus World is an industry bedrock—first published in 1965 and still going strong. We publish original articles about cutting-edge advances in lasers, optics, photonics, sensors, and quantum technologies, as well as test and measurement, and the shift currently underway to usher in the photonic integrated circuits, optical interconnects, and copackaged electronics and photonics to deliver the speed and efficiency essential for data centers of the future.

Our 80,000 qualified print subscribers—and 130,000 12-month engaged online audience—trust us to dive in and provide original journalism you won’t find elsewhere covering key emerging areas such as laser-driven inertial confinement fusion, lasers in space, integrated photonics, chipscale lasers, LiDAR, metasurfaces, high-energy laser weaponry, photonic crystals, and quantum computing/sensors/communications. We cover the innovations driving these markets.

Introduction to JINYOU’s 2 MW Green Energy Project

Since the enactment of the Renewable Energy Law of the PRC in 2006, the Chinese government has prolonged its subsidies for photovoltaics (PV) for another 20 years in support of such a renewable resource.

Unlike unrenewable petroleum and natural gas, PV is sustainable and safe from depletion. It also offers reliable, noiseless and non-polluting power generation. Besides, photovoltaic electricity excels at its quality while the maintenance of PV systems is simple and affordable.

There is as much as 800 MW·h of energy transmitted from the sun to the earth’s surface each second. Suppose 0.1% of it were collected and converted into electricity at a conversion rate of 5%, the gross electrical output could reach 5.6×1012 kW·h, which is 40 times the total energy consumption in the world. Since solar power possesses remarkable advantages, the PV industry has been substantially developed since the 1990s. By 2006, there had been more than 10 megawatt-level PV generator systems and 6 megawatt-level networked PV power plants fully constructed. Furthermore, the PV’s application as well as its market size has been progressively expanding.

In response to the governmental initiative, we Shanghai JINYOU Fluorine Materials Co., Ltd launched our own PV power plant project in 2020. The construction began in August 2021 and the system was put into full operation on April 18th, 2022. So far, all thirteen buildings in our manufacturing base in Haimen, Jiangsu have been roofed with PV cells. The annual output of the 2MW PV system is estimated at 26 kW·h, which creates approximately 2.1 million Yuan of revenue.
