LaFinteca Gains New Central Bank of Brazil License to Boost Payments Expansion

SÃO PAULO, BR / ACCESS Newswire / October 7, 2025 / LaFinteca, a fintech company with offices in São Paulo and Barcelona, has received a new authorization from the Central Bank of Brazil to operate as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) - a license that expands the company's regulatory footprint and strengthens its ability to support merchants and platforms across Latin America.

The authorization places LaFinteca among the select group of regulated players permitted to manage digital payment services under Brazil's financial law. It also reinforces the company's long-term strategy: to build scalable, compliant infrastructure for businesses entering or expanding in the region.

Strengthening LATAM's fintech infrastructure

Brazil is the largest fintech market in Latin America, home to more than 140 million active digital payment users. Systems such as Pix, the Central Bank's instant payment network, have reshaped how consumers and companies transact. But behind this digital success lies an essential element - regulation.

By securing its new EMI license, LaFinteca is betting on a model where regulatory alignment and technological innovation move in sync. The company believes that robust compliance is not a limitation but an enabler of growth, helping international firms enter Brazil with transparency and trust.

"Brazil doesn't reward shortcuts. It rewards commitment, precision, and compliance," said Dmytro Rukin, Founder & CEO of LaFinteca. "This new license proves that LaFinteca is ready to operate responsibly in one of the world's most dynamic payments markets."

Why the license matters

As an authorized payment institution, LaFinteca operates under the direct supervision of the Central Bank of Brazil. This oversight allows it to deliver digital payment services within a defined regulatory framework - a structure that reduces operational risk for merchants and improves confidence among partners and investors.

The company said the new license is part of a broader roadmap focused on developing wallet infrastructure, settlement tools, and merchant APIs designed for compliant cross-border operations. These products aim to simplify how businesses onboard users, manage payouts, and reconcile multi-currency transactions.

Expanding opportunities for global merchants

LaFinteca's expanded authorization also provides a bridge for companies from the U.S., Europe, and other regions seeking to access Latin America's fast-growing digital economy. By combining regulatory compliance with localized expertise, the company hopes to make market entry more seamless for payment-intensive industries such as e-commerce, fintech platforms, and digital entertainment.

According to LaFinteca, the new license is not just a regulatory requirement but a foundation for long-term scalability. "Our focus is to create sustainable infrastructure," added Rukin. "We're building a framework that allows our partners to grow responsibly - with clarity, compliance, and confidence."

What's next

The company plans to continue strengthening its presence across Latin America through partnerships, product integrations, and ongoing regulatory engagement. For LaFinteca, Brazil's authorization is the next step in a strategy that combines local insight with global standards - aligning innovation with governance.
