Fiber Internet from Kinetic Coming to More Communities in North Carolina, including Indian Trail

Kinetic announced plans today for a multi-year initiative to bring fiber internet to more communities in North Carolina. Last month, the company completed a rollout in the Waxhaw downtown area. Earlier this year, Kinetic announced fiber rollouts coming to several communities, including Concord, Matthews, Waverly and Badin.

By spring 2022, Kinetic will have doubled the number of homes and businesses in Indian Trail that are fiber eligible, meaning they can access fiber for broadband, voice, productivity and entertainment services with unparalleled speed and reliability. And the fiber deployment is not done. Planning and engineering is ongoing for to bring more next generation services available to more customers in North Carolina.

"It is crucial that Kinetic by Windstream is making this private investment of fiber to the home service in Indian Trail,” said Rep. Dean Arp, who represents Union County. “We have learned through the pandemic how critical it is for our homes and businesses to have access to high-speed internet service beyond 10 megabits download and 1 megabit upload and even 25:3 service. The 1 gigabyte service that will be available upon buildout of this project will assure that the internet needs for the locations being served will be satisfied well into the future.”

This investment gives residents and businesses in the area access to fast, reliable fiber to navigate the internet safely from home with no lag times while they work, school or stream entertainment services. Businesses ranging from small shops to large enterprises can take advantage of the fiber-backed network to deploy solutions that make their companies more efficient and profitable such as OfficeSuite UC® and SD-WAN.

Engineering for all these projects is ongoing, and Kinetic is staffing up construction crews for the work. Area residents will see crews working on fiber rollout in their areas in the coming months.

“Kinetic has long been committed to residents and businesses in North Carolina, and we are dedicated to delivering fast broadband speed, at competitive rates with unmatched service,” said Jeff Small, president of Kinetic. “We’re proud that so many communities can count on Kinetic for fast and reliable connections.”

Kinetic is currently undergoing a $2 billion, multi-year construction initiative to dramatically expand gigabit internet service deploying fiber across its 18-state footprint. To support the company’s multi-year, multi-billion dollar investment program, the company announced it will add nearly 1,000 jobs in a newly-created internal engineering and fiber construction organization.
