Trustmark Promotes Daniel Hanke to Chief Information Officer

National employee benefits provider Trustmark has promoted Daniel Hanke, formerly Vice President, Infrastructure Operations, to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In this role, Hanke will advance Trustmark’s ongoing digital transformation and lead deployment of technology solutions that simplify benefit offerings, engage consumers and help employers adapt to the changing workplace environment.

"Dan has proven himself to be a talented leader who creates and executes technology strategies that deliver value to our customers, our businesses and the Trustmark enterprise,” said Trustmark President and CEO Kevin Slawin. “The pace of change, particularly in technology, has never been more intense. Since he started at Trustmark, Dan has led the change necessary to enhance Trustmark’s competitive position across our businesses. It’s this blend of technical acumen and business knowledge that set Dan apart. He keeps the customer in mind, manages ambiguity and, as a leader, maximizes team and individual strengths.”

Hanke joined Trustmark in 2015 as Vice President, Infrastructure and Operations, after 13 years at Rockwell Automation, where he served as Director of Global Infrastructure. There, he was responsible for the full life cycle of end-user services across all regions, managing multi-million dollar operating and capital improvement budgets and a staff of more than 250. Prior to Rockwell Automation, Hanke also worked as a consultant, advising Fortune 500 companies on strategic planning, process design and global infrastructure implementation.

At Trustmark, Hanke has successfully focused on operational excellence, streamlining and modernizing infrastructure to enhance productivity and service delivery. He has established and managed relationships with leading external vendor partners, and he has delivered on multi-year projects that facilitate ongoing improvements in cybersecurity, technology and business resiliency and more.

“Dan knows Trustmark and he knows our customers,” said Slawin. “He leads a team of talented IT professionals who have helped us add exponentially to our digital capabilities over the past several years. This has made administering Trustmark benefits easier than ever. Employers also face new challenges with largely hybrid workforces. Dan will help us offer solutions that provide valuable financial protection and enable employers to maintain a sense of community and shared company culture through technology.”

Hanke earned his bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Lubar School of Business.
