Albertsons Companies Foundation Raises Nearly $6 Million Through Customer Donations to Connect Neighbors in Need with Federal Nutrition Programs

Money raised is going directly back to local communities, funding grants for over 130 organizations to help break the cycle of hunger

During the month of September, Albertsons Companies, Inc. (NYSE: ACI), along with the Albertsons Companies Foundation, raised nearly $6 million through customer donations made at the register to support community organizations committed to connecting qualified individuals with existing federal meal programs. Grants will be awarded through the company’s Nourishing Neighbors charitable program this month to help those in need sign up for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Women Infants and Children (WIC). This fundraising campaign underscores the company’s support of the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health and its goal to help 50,000 eligible neighbors enroll in SNAP and WIC benefits in 2023.
