Deluxe CEO Barry C. McCarthy to be Inducted into Georgia Fintech Hall of Fame

McCarthy will be the 2024 inductee to the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Fintech Hall of Fame. Since joining Deluxe in late 2018, McCarthy has helped transform the organization from a legacy check printer to a leader in digital payments and data solutions. Currently, Deluxe processes nearly $3 trillion in payment volume annually while supporting millions of small businesses, thousands of vital financial institutions, and hundreds of the world's leading consumer brands.

Under McCarthy’s guidance, Deluxe is now in its fourth consecutive year of organic revenue growth, a feat the company had not accomplished for several decades, with profits growing faster than revenue. He masterminded the largest acquisition in company history with the 2021 acquisition of First American Payments System, now Deluxe Merchant Services. While continuing to deliver the industry’s leading check product, the B2B payments, merchant services, and data analytics solutions Deluxe offers now generate more revenue than these legacy print businesses for the 109-year old company.

Previously, McCarthy served on the leadership team of First Data (now Fiserv) for 14 years, where he led the collaboration with Apple that supported the launch of ApplePay. Finally, while at Wells Fargo, he created the first cloud-based ATMs and modern UI and UX that are still in use today. His fingerprints are all over the modern fintech industry landscape.
