Members of the Fort Bend County and North Fort Bend County Chambers of Commerce joined Kinetic officials to break ground on a project that will connect more than 22,000 households to high-speed fiber internet.

The Fort Bend project will build fiber connections to an estimated 2,200 households each month over the course of the year.

“Kinetic is committed to continuing to upgrade our technology and services to reflect the needs of our communities,” said Danny Ferguson, president of Kinetic’s Texas Operations. “With this build and our recent multi-gig upgrades, we’re proud to offer Sugar Land the best of fiber optic internet services.”

Some of the neighborhoods that can expect to benefit from the over 330 planned miles of fiber optic internet upgrade by the end of 2025 include Stratford Park, Orchard Lake Estates, Sugar Creek, Austin Park Courtyard, Colony Meadows, Lexington Meadows and Crecent Lakes.

Kinetic’s Fort Bend County fiber project is part of a $2 billion multiyear investment strategy by Kinetic to dramatically expand multi-gigabit fiber service across the company’s 18-state footprint.

“As a company that’s been around for over 75 years, Kinetic has always responded to the dynamic needs of Fort Bend,” said Megan Crutcher, chair of the Central Fort Bend Chamber Board. “We’re excited to see Kinetic continue to break ground in new areas, and in areas they pledge to enhance with fiber broadband services across our counties.”
